Job Description
The Senior Registrar in Internal Medicine plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services for medical conditions. This position is designed for a skilled clinician who can effectively assess and manage a diverse range of medical conditions while ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. The Senior Registrar will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, maintain clinical quality, and foster professional growth
Assessment and Diagnosis
Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of patients. Gather comprehensive patient histories through interviews and questionnaires. Perform virtual physical examinations using appropriate techniques. Analyze diagnostic tests (e.g., lab results, imaging) to inform clinical decisions. Engage patients in discussions about their symptoms and concerns
Treatment Planning and Implementation
Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Collaborate with patients to set realistic treatment goals based on their conditions. Prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications. Integrate evidence-based practices into treatment strategies. Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust plans as necessary. Referral to higher level of care when needed
Clinical Quality and Safe Practice
Uphold clinical quality standards and ensure safe practices. Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care. Adhere to clinical guidelines and protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits. Report and analyze incidents or adverse events. Implement clinical protocols and evidence-based guidelines to enhance patient safety. Address any incidents or safety concerns immediately and effectively
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers
Foster collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Lead and participate in regular case discussions with healthcare team members. Share patient insights and progress updates with other providers. Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare services as needed
Professional Development and Compliance
Engage in ongoing professional development and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and training programs. Maintain awareness of changes in clinical guidelines and best practices. Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional growth
Patient Safety and Satisfaction
Promote patient safety and enhance patient satisfaction throughout the care process. Implement patient safety protocols and best practices. Solicit and analyze patient feedback to identify areas for improvement. Address patient concerns and ensure effective communication regarding their care
Skills
Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school. Residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited program. Board certification in Internal Medicine. Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification and registration as Senior Registrar – Internal Medicine. Proficiency in telehealth technologies and platforms. Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with medical clinical assessment tools. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms. Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships with patients and colleagues. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in internal medicine, population health management, and value-based care. Arabic and English Language Proficiency.
