ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Architecture Manager is pivotal in steering the architectural design spectrum for diverse asset types across NEOM. This role entails leading a dynamic architectural design team dedicated to multiple NEOM regions. The Senior Architecture Manager will meticulously plan, schedule, organize, and coordinate design efforts on projects of varying scales. Acting as a vital contributor to the Quality Assurance framework, this position fosters regular collaboration with the Executive Director and Proponent’s team to ensure exceptional design outcomes.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Architectural Vision
- Champion developing and implementing a distinctive NEOM architectural design style, ensuring consistent application across all regions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders, delivering on the Trojena Projects’ Architecture Management mandate through effective communication and relationship-building
Creative Design Leadership
- Utilize a creative and aesthetic approach to manage architectural design, ensuring innovative and functional outcomes from concept to completion.
Diverse Typology Expertise
- Deliver comprehensive architectural solutions across various typologies, including residential, mixed-use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, civic, and cultural projects.
Consultant Management
- Oversee and collaborate with architectural design consultants to align with NEOM’s architectural vision and contextual requirements.
Technical Proficiency
- Prepare, develop, and refine architectural drawings and presentations, ensuring clarity and precision in all deliverables.
Design Production Oversight
- Supervise the production of visualizations and design phases, including pre-concept, concept, developed, and detailed designs.
Qualitative Review Leadership
- Serve as the lead reviewer of qualitative architectural design processes, providing insightful analysis, constructive feedback, and strategic recommendations to executive management.
Team Management
- Mentor and oversee a team of Senior Architects, Architects, and Designers, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
Comprehensive Documentation
- Draft and manage architectural sets from initial concept through to detailed design documents, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects.
Design Coordination
- Ensure thorough compliance with Design and Asset Briefs, facilitating effective coordination across architectural and disciplinary domains.
Asset Brief Development
- Lead the creation and refinement of architectural asset briefs, ensuring clarity in scope and objectives.
Standardization of Processes
- Develop design manuals and standard design documents to streamline architectural processes and enhance consistency.
Material and FF&E Management
- Oversee the preparation and review of materials schedules, sample boards, and FF&E sourcing, ensuring quality and alignment with design intent.
Public Realm Design Expertise
- Apply principles of public realm design, enhancing the usability and aesthetic appeal of the surrounding environment.
Problem-Solving Acumen
- Address design challenges with creativity and pragmatism, developing multiple design options that align with project objectives and budget constraints.
Collaborative Communication
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among consultants, contractors, and various NEOM departments, ensuring a cohesive approach to project delivery.
Quality Assurance Compliance
- Produce all deliverables in strict accordance with NEOM’s standards and policies, upholding the highest quality benchmarks.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 10+ years of post-graduate architectural design and management experience, demonstrating a track record of excellence in the field.
- Proven experience in managing international design consultants across diverse sectors and architectural typologies.
- Background in renowned architectural design studios, showcasing innovative design capabilities and aesthetic sensibility.
- Extensive expertise in design and construction materials, with a solid understanding of their applications in various contexts.
- Rich experience in managing large-scale projects, emphasizing successful delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Familiarity with the Middle East market and its unique design considerations is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial and commercial aspects of project management, ensuring effective resource allocation and budgeting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management principles, with the ability to effectively communicate and mitigate potential risks.
- Familiarity with international standards, codes, and statutory authority requirements, ensuring compliance throughout project lifecycles.
- Developed understanding of sustainable design practices, integrating eco-friendly solutions into architectural designs.
- Exceptional conceptual thinking and design skills, with a strong emphasis on aesthetics and functionality.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with excellent interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with effective negotiation skills to advocate for design excellence and project needs.
