الوصف الوظيفي

Senior Low Current Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and supervision of low current systems (such as fire alarm systems, security systems, access control, telecommunications, and building management systems) within the scope of the PMC project. The role involves technical review, coordination with various stakeholders, and ensuring that all systems meet project specifications, standards, and are integrated seamlessly into the overall project.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve the design of low current systems (e.g., fire alarms, CCTV, access control, public address, building management systems).
  • Ensure that the designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the proper integration of low current systems with other building systems (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that low current systems are implemented according to the project plan and within budget.
  • Ensure effective communication between stakeholders to prevent design clashes and delays in system implementation.
  • Supervise and coordinate installation, commissioning, and testing of low current systems on-site.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during the design, installation, and commissioning phases of low current systems.
  • Resolve technical issues related to system integration, performance, and compliance with specifications.
  • Provide expertise in selecting appropriate low current technologies, products, and vendors for the project.
  • Ensure that all low current systems comply with local codes, regulations, and international standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, ISO, etc.).
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation and certification for all low current installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure that low current systems are installed and commissioned as per project requirements.
  • Review and approve materials, equipment, and products to be used in the project.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • monitor and control costs associated with low current systems, ensuring that they remain within the allocated budget.
  • Provide input during the tendering process, including technical evaluations of bids related to low current systems.
  • Evaluate change orders and claims related to low current systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and justifying any deviations from the original budget.
  • Identify potential risks related to low current systems and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that systems are designed and implemented to meet the project’s reliability, safety, and performance goals.
  • Provide solutions to potential system failures or malfunctions and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of system designs, approvals, installation progress, and commissioning reports.
  • Prepare technical reports, status updates, and documentation for clients, contractors, and project management.
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation is submitted in a timely manner and complies with contract requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in the design and implementation of low current systems in large-scale construction projects, preferably within a PMC environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in low current systems (such as BICSI, NFPA, or other low voltage systems certifications) are desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of low current systems, including fire alarm systems, security systems, BMS, access control, telecommunications, and other ELV systems.
  • Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of international and local standards for low current systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team collaboration and coordination skills.
