Role Summary:
As Senior Logistics Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing the logistics and supply chain operations of the company. This role involves analyzing and designing efficient distribution networks, improving transportation strategies, and implementing technology solutions to enhance overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing logistics processes, distribution networks, and supply chain operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and propose optimized logistics solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Develop and implement transportation strategies that optimize routing, scheduling, and carrier selection to minimize transit times and costs.
- Identify modes of transportation that align with business requirements and market trends.
- Design, model, and optimize logistics and distribution networks to ensure optimal inventory placement and reduce lead times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network changes and improvements.
- Identify and evaluate technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and data analytics tools, to enhance logistics operations.
- Lead technology implementation projects and oversee their successful integration.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline logistics operations, reduce waste, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Utilize data analytics to assess logistics performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and carriers to optimize partnerships and negotiate favorable terms for logistics services.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of external partners to ensure alignment with DSV's standards.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about transportation regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various internal teams, including operations, procurement, sales, and customer service, to align logistics strategies with business goals.
Educational Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a logistics engineer, supply chain analyst, or related role, with a strong focus on process optimization.
- Proficiency in logistics modeling software, data analytics tools, and supply chain technology solutions.
