Senior Handling Consultant for Artworks | Saudi Arabia

Our client is the largest total Multidisciplinary group that plans, designs, and builds exhibitions, installations, or events in the Kingdom ofSaudi Arabia.

As a Senior Handling Consultant for Artworks, you will oversee the safe handling, transportation, installation, and documentation of high-value artworks, ensuring adherence to international best practices and safety standards. This role demands extensive experience in logistics for cultural projects and strategic coordination with key stakeholders.

The position involves:

• Oversee the safe handling, transportation, installation, and documentation of high-value artworks, ensuring all processes meet international best practices and safety standards.
• Lead the development and completion of condition reports before and after transportation, restoration, and installation of artworks, providing expert recommendations for any restoration actions.
• Manage logistics services for the collection, transportation, and delivery of artworks, including sourcing specialized packing and crating materials.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations in Saudi Arabia and international standards, conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Develop method statements and establish quality control measures to ensure proper handling and installation of artworks.
• Act as the primary liaison with key stakeholders, including the Art Management Consultant, Program Management Office, and project owner, providing regular progress updates and maintaining all necessary documentation.
• Source and manage local suppliers for equipment like cranes and lifting machinery, ensuring all vendors meet project specifications and safety standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to align equipment scheduling with project timelines and requirements.
• Utilize extensive experience in cultural projects or public art installations in Europe, the US, or the MEA region.

We are Looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Art Management, Logistics, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in art handling, logistics, or project management, with a focus on high value art installations or cultural projects in Europe, the US, or the MEA region.
• In-depth knowledge of international health and safety regulations and best practices for art handling and logistics.
• Proven experience in condition reporting, restoration recommendations, and quality control processes.
• Strong familiarity with local suppliers and service providers for cranes, lifting equipment, transport vehicles, and other machinery required for complex installations.
• Exceptional coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of working on large-scale cultural or public art projects.
• Ability to lead under pressure and manage multiple high-priority tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
