Job Purpose
The Risk and Resilience Manager will be responsible for the integration and implementation of various activities within the fields of risk management and business continuity, across the University. This includes engagement in and responsibility for delivery against all aspects of the frameworks and the development programs.
Developing an understanding of the key University-wide activities, capabilities, and risks will be essential once in the role. This will involve understanding, managing, and promoting effective processes, as well as proactively working with a range of stakeholders to enable the effective ongoing management of risk at all levels and the continual delivery of increased resilience capability in the face of disruption.
Major Accountabilities
Responsible for implementation, management, and continuous improvement of various aspects within the University’s Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management Programs, in line with the University’s strategic direction, international standards, and industry best practices.
Evaluate and enhance documents (policy, framework, procedures, and guidance) periodically to align with evolving requirements.
Plan and deliver compliance as required with evolving regulatory and industry standards.
Provide support to the Divisional/Departmental Heads and representatives for both Risk Management and Business Continuity, to encourage integration and collaboration in identifying and developing appropriate strategies, in line with business needs and with the University’s risk appetite.
Facilitate the continual cycle of risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and review across all areas, including the delivery of improvements in the quality of risk assessments and risk controls.
Drive and manage the process of reviewing/updating, testing, and increasing the maturity of the University’s Business Continuity plans, identifying and implementing measures to develop and improve the University’s continuity capability.
Engage in the planning, design, and delivery of effective training and awareness programs, to help embed an improved risk and resilience culture across the University.
Manage and maintain controls to monitor the performance and governance of both the Enterprise Risk Management Program and the Enterprise Business Continuity Program, including the development of appropriate KPIs, trend analysis, and executive reporting.
Provide materials for reporting to Risk Management Committee, and manage post-meeting formalities.
Maintain all data related to University’s Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management Programs centrally.
Perform other duties as requested by the Enterprise Risk Senior Manager, and/or Business Continuity Senior Manager.

Competencies
Technical Skills
Good Program Management skills - demonstrable track record successfully managing projects and coordinating multi-discipline projects.
Good understanding and experience in implementing best practices in one or both of enterprise risk management, business continuity management, and audit, in line with relevant international standards ISO 31000 and/or ISO 22301.
Ability to review, analyze and evaluate risk management and business continuity practices in order to provide tactical and strategic recommendations to management.
Good analytical skills, including experience in using software tools or programs to benefit an Enterprise Risk Management or Business Continuity Management Program. Non-Technical Skills or Attributes
Good communicator within a complex and culturally diverse organization, able to converse at all levels, including to middle management.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferred related industry certification in Enterprise Risk Management and/or Business Continuity Management with a recognized institution.
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Risk Management and/or Business Continuity Management and/or Audit discipline.
Experience within a tertiary/higher education institution or other large organization.
Experience within research oriented higher education institutions is preferred.
