الوصف الوظيفي

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations’ spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking a Reservoir Simulation Engineer to join the Gas Reservoir Managements Department.

The Gas Reservoir Management Department responsible to maximize hydrocarbon recovery from Saudi Aramco conventional non-associated gas reservoirs to meet the committed gas demand in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible manner by deploying optimal field development strategies and leveraging on the best-in-class technologies and operational practices.

As a Reservoir Simulation Engineer you will be responsible to support Saudi Aramco developing and managing world-class onshore and offshore non-associated gas fields, reservoirs and reserves.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Lead and participate in integrated reservoir multidisciplinary studies throughout all milestones of data analysis, model construction, history matching, calibration and prediction.
  • Study and propose alternatives to optimize field development and maximize hydrocarbon recovery from new and mature fields using high fidelity reservoir simulation models.
  • Work closely with Petroleum and Operations Engineers to generate, monitor, and ensure execution of short-term and long-term data gathering plans for their fields.
  • Perform data preparation for reservoir simulation including QA/QC and correct anomalies, analyze trends to recognize deviations and inconsistencies.
  • Apply special simulation modeling techniques such as: fracture modeling, compositional, Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) modeling, coupling surface and sub-surface modeling, and complex well and smart completions.
  • Conduct classical petroleum engineering analysis pertaining to well test analysis, material balance, production logging, nodal analysis, and production data analysis.
  • Work closely with Reserves Estimators and Auditors to ensure compliance to industry recognized reserves definitions, guidelines and defend decisions related to reserves on behalf of Gas Reservoir Managements Departments.
  • Represent Saudi Aramco in external technical contacts with consultants and vendors, and participate in technical societies and groups.
  • introduce new technologies and provide specialized engineering services as part of the customized reservoir management practices
  • Developing, implementing, and leading different reservoir simulation complex technical engagements that cover a spectrum of field development plans to solution-based reservoir engineering consultancies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of gas/gas-condensate reservoir simulation, including: designing, participating in and implementing best-in-class reservoir management programs.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

  • Bachelor of science in petroleum engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited university. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in petroleum engineering organization with a minimum of 7 years specializing in gas/gas-condensate reservoir simulation.
  • Training history of appropriate specialized courses and seminars.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and to communicate effectively with specialists in reservoir characterization and geologic modeling, petro-physical evaluation, core analysis, reservoir management, and production engineering.
  • Ability to conduct classical petroleum engineering analysis pertaining to well test analysis, material balance, production logging, nodal analysis, and production data analysis.
  • Conduct classical petroleum engineering analysis pertaining to well test analysis, material balance, production logging, nodal analysis, and production data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in reservoir simulation (compositional and black-oil), reserves definition and estimation guidelines, Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) modeling, Routine and Special core analysis, Formation Evaluation, geological properties modeling, reservoir management operations, completion and production procedures and technologies.
  • Demonstrate technical contribution in Petroleum and Reservoir engineering knowledge sharing through reputable international publications, technology patents and mentoring programs.
  • Extensive working knowledge of standard vendor applications for pre and post processing of simulation data.
