Job Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled Generator Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electrical testing, arranging materials, creating engineering requests for disposition, and providing guidelines to winders. They will also prepare condition and final customer reports. This role requires close collaboration with operation leaders to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Execution of gas turbine generator rotor refurbishment from receipt to completion ensuring all quality requirements. Documentation and processing of deviations. Creation of quality documentation. Analysis and documentation of the measurement results. Cooperation and management of problem-solving projects. Cooperation with development engineers and production managers for Conducting the tests and assessing the measurement results. Creation of test instructions and training of production staff. Conducting internal process audits and self-auditing monitoring. Representation of Q-inspectors in other production areas. Creating condition and final report for gas turbine Generator & Rotor components Performing Dimensional inspection. Performing visual inspection. Perform electrical tests on GE gas turbine generator (Insulation resistance, AC impedance, Winding resistance, Pole to pole test, RSO test) Perform NDT inspection on turbine parts. Preferably penetrant testing (Red dye /FPI) Create customer reports like, daily progress reports, condition reports & Final reports. Deal with drawing and document as per repair process required. Monitoring the repairing process from incoming inspection to final packing. Performing mechanical run out for generator. Creating NCR & ER case using the tools & diligent follow up to analyze and solve the problems. Performing final check list for Generator, Rotor & Blade components Support the Operation leader in Updating the work progress for the Generator & Rotor components. Participate in quality & safety concerns reporting and hazard hunts events in the Cell.
Qualification/Requirements:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality. Minimum 1 year of experience in gas turbine Generator overhauling or rewinding. Strong knowledge of generator electrical and mechanical components. Proficiency in conducting electrical tests, including high voltage tests. Understanding of processes in Thermal Power Plants. Familiarity with Power Station Generators. Good to excellent communication skills, as this role involves working directly with customer during joint inspections. Good English knowledge, writing & speaking.
Desired qualifications
Non-Destructive Testing certified is a plus. Very good technical understanding (read drawings, tolerances, specifications, and standards). Secure handling of MS Office, SAP & other GE tools for Engineering & quality are preferred. Experience in Problem Solving Techniques, involvement in RCA/ Statistical Evaluations. Performing refurbishment/Partial winding/Full rewinding on high voltage generator Stator windings and Field windings to ensure the insulation system meets OEM and Industry standards.
