Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Platform Screen Door System (PSDS) Technician to work on our RIYADH Project. This position will require someone who’s on their toes: a doer who’s looking to grow long-term within our business of railway and mass transit signaling system.
The position is based in RIYADH, starting as soon as possible.

Mission
Constantly monitor the performances of the ongoing maintenance regime to ensure continual improvement of assets reliability and availability and, at the same time, an optimized lifecycle cost.
Accountabilities
- To Supervise and organize your team in order to meet and achieve contractual performance of Reliability, Availability and Safety and other KPI.
- Participate in all internal and contractual Platform Screen Door Trainings to become a trainer.
- Assist the Supervisor maintaining adequate level of the team knowledge to respond to all requirements of the lines.
- Carry out due diligence within and during Platform Screen Door activities in agreement with management.
- Contribute to CMMS configuration necessary to perform Maintenance activity.
- As per Supervisor’s direction ensure all planned and unplanned works are performed on time.
- Intervene in a fast and efficient manner to avoid disruption of 3rd Rail service.
- Assist the Platform Screen Door Supervisor with putting in place and/ or reviewing Platform Screen Door maintenance plan without disruption of Service.
- Liaise with the Supervisor with reporting with transparency, the status of the maintenance and its KPIs, as and when required.
- Review operational risks, implementing required and agreed mitigation initiatives.
- Assist the Supervisor with Following up reporting and configuration change rules & process by using the proper tool.
- Ensure key project stakeholders are informed through written communication before undertaking any works on Platform Screen Doors
- To manage safe work through respect of method statement, strict application of Permit to Work in order to grant safe access to track, and work sites.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe and effective manner in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974), Rules and Regulations, TOC Safety Case and FLOW Policies and Procedures & Code of Ethics.
- EHS: Accountable for the proper implementation of the FLOW policy and Customer requirements by all stakeholders (internal & external) including suppliers and contractors. Use and promote Close Call Reporting.
Safety Critical Responsibilities:
- Operating points (locally)
- Communicating with Signalers and Line Controllers
- Communicating with electrical control operators.
- Communicating with persons responsible for a Track Possession, Worksite or movements of rail vehicles within a Possession
- Safety critical communications by others
- Installation of Platform Screen Door System related components onto vehicles normally in service
- Maintenance of Platform Screen Door System related components on vehicles normally in service
- Installation of telecommunications related components onto vehicles normally in service
- Maintenance of telecommunications related components on vehicles normally in service
- Installing Platform Screen Door System components
- Maintaining Platform Screen Door System equipment
- Inspecting Platform Screen Door System equipment
- Installing telecommunications equipment used to control train operation or maintenance activities
- Maintaining telecommunications equipment used to control train operation or maintenance activities
- Maintaining electrical equipment supplying electricity to the telephone and telecommunications system
Knowledge:
- Higher diploma or Degree in electrical/electronic engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Membership of a recognized engineering institution is desirable.
- Knowledge of Platform Screen Door System
- Considerable knowledge in maintenance execution, fault diagnostics, and application of procedures, technical specifications, work instructions, safety and quality plans and procedures as required.
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations.

- A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Platform Screen Door System maintenance.

Role Specifics
- This role, when focused on preventative maintenance, works on a shift basis covering 24/7 operations
Education:
- Higher diploma or Degree holder in electrical/electronic engineering discipline or equivalent.
