Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Integration Professional to play a key role in the implementation and optimization of integrated healthcare systems within our computational health team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in healthcare information systems integration, with expertise in Epic, Cerner, or InterSystems. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare data exchange, system interoperability, and the ability to enhance overall clinical and operational workflows through seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integration strategies for healthcare information systems, collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability.
• Lead the integration efforts for platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or InterSystems, ensuring the efficient exchange of data and information across various healthcare applications.
• Design and implement solutions for health information exchange, fostering communication and data sharing between disparate systems and healthcare providers.
• Stay abreast of healthcare interoperability standards and industry best practices, ensuring that integration solutions align with current regulations and guidelines.
• Oversee and build a project team
• Design, develop, and test interfaces between different healthcare and non-healthcare systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry standards.
• Provide expertise and support during the implementation of integrated healthcare systems, collaborating with project managers, IT teams, and end-users to ensure successful deployment.
• Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting integration-related issues, conducting root cause analyses, and working closely with technical teams for effective problem resolution.
• Implement quality assurance measures for healthcare data exchange, including data validation, error handling, and monitoring to ensure the integrity of integrated systems.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience with healthcare information systems integration, particularly with Epic, Cerner, or InterSystems, in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.
• Previous experience in the implementation of integrated healthcare systems, including data migration and interface development.
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) and interface engines.
• Project management skills, including the ability to create and execute integration project plans, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and a commitment to data security and compliance. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Previous implementation experience and working in a hospital environment experience.
• Proven experience as an Integration Specialist, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
