The Procurement Engineer plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry by ensuring that all materials and services are procured efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction materials, project management, and supply chain dynamics, along with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to meet project deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
  2. Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to prevent shortages or excess.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand material requirements and specifications.
  6. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and industry trends.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations in procurement activities.
  8. Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders and contracts.
  9. Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve processes.
  10. Provide training and guidance to junior procurement staff as needed.
