Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research invites applications for postdoctoral positions in IBM’s Materials Discovery Research team.
We are seeking outstanding candidates who obtained their Doctoral degree within the last five (5) years.
Applicants who are currently finalizing their doctoral dissertations for examination may apply, provided that they will submit them by 31 December 2024.
The positions are located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
You will be hired as a regular IBM Employee.
Duration of the contract: 24-36 months.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Have completed at least a Doctoral Degree within the last 5 years or completing in December 2024, in Computer Science, Materials Science and other related fields with considerable computational modelling and programming focus, such as Computer Science; Data Science and AI techniques; Expertise in Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science; familiarity with Metal-Organic Frameworks for CO2 Direct Air Capture and/or CO2 Hydrogenation and related areas.
Have demonstrable research proficiency based on the scientific method, meaning they must have the ability to define research questions, formulate hypothesis, and develop innovative solutions using cutting-edge technologies.
Be familiar with data science and machine learning/deep learning methods, including natural language processing, and their implementation. Have notable programming experience in languages such as Python and C++.
Demonstrated skills and expertise in performing molecular simulations based on, for example, Classical Molecular Dynamics, Density Functional Theory, or Grand Canonical Monte Carlo. Process-scale simulation methods and techniques will be a plus.
