We are looking for a Planning Manager for one of our clients with the following details:
Start Date: December 2024
Service Location: Saudi Arabia
Duration of Assignment: 12 months - extendable based on project requirement - Contract Hire
Proposed Monthly Salary: All inclusive – Including Accommodation & Transportation / month in SAR
Work Schedule: 5 days per week – 9 hours/day
Typical background and experience required:
The Planning Manager must be a technically qualified professional with at least 15 years post graduate experience in the stated discipline, at least 10 of which must have been in the relevant industry on projects relevant to the type of projects being supported by this agreement, and with demonstrable ability to operate at the level defined.
Must have:
- Lead on small to large sized projects, Responsible for all Planning/Scheduling related activities.
- Been responsible for planning & Managing the day to day resourcing of the Planning team, providing managerial and technical support to the team
- Be capable of managing the Planning team
- the ability to interface with others, and to communicate well at all levels
- the commitment to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner
- Primavera P6 experience
- Ability to produce level 1 to level 4 schedules depending on project requirements
- Able to quickly assimilate changes into project schedules and identify key project risks
- Good oral and written English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience as PMC
- Experience in KSA or Middle East with renowned client
- Infrastructures project experience would be an advantage
The Planning Manager’s main responsibilities are:
- To ensure clear definition of the Planning requirements of his assigned project and to be fully familiar with the Contract.
- To prepare, agree and issue all the Planning documents in accordance with Company/Project Procedures.
- To apply all Planning techniques as appropriate in accordance with the approved Project Controls Execution Plan.
- To ensure that the Planning Systems provide the best possible control tools for the Supervisory staff on the project to allow them to control their work efficiently.
To ensure that, at all times, the Project staff is fully aware of
- the Project targets
- the current status
- exceptions to plan
- required remedial action
- forecasts for recovery to the plan.
- To ensure that the Project Director is aware of any potential major problems, and to propose remedial action, i.e. to initiate an "Early Warning" system.
- Review EMS updates with the Project Cost Engineer and identify adverse trends in progress and manhour expenditure. Audit and record progress and issue reports to the Project Director for inclusion in the monthly report. Carry out work as necessary to assist in Field Planning matters.
- To support the Project Director in any other relevant area, e.g. Contractual matters, office administration, accommodation, computing needs.
- To liaise with the Project Controls Manager on any problems, suggestions, staffing matters etc. in order to support a consistent approach across the company and to supervise and coach more junior Planning staff in their duties
- To establish and promote good working relations with the Project staff and the Client.
- To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.
- To establish and maintain the Project Master Schedule which will represent a realistic coordinated plan for the integration of all elements of the Project.
- Monitor progress of all Project work carried out in relation to the Project Master Schedule and identify potential delays to performance of any Project work.
- Check the contract schedule baselines of the Contractor(s) and other parties, seek clarification of the schedule baseline proposals from the Contractor(s) and other parties as necessary and incorporate these into the Project Master Schedule
