Job Purpose / Objective 


Manage, Monitor, Engage and involve in all nursing programs across HMG, act as reference point to nurses by facilitating the nursing inquiries related to programs, and ensuring safe and appropriate care for patients.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities  


  • Support and work to implement Post Graduate Program strategic objectives, policies, procedures as well as providing support in setting of departmental measurable and achievable objectives
  • Meeting with the program directors for training related arrangements / planning
  • Oversee the administrative and educational activities and other related matters regarding the Post Graduate Programs in accordance with HMG standards and guidelines as well as the rules and regulations of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Organize Training Schedules, Suggest Changes and follow up with training partners.
  • Furnish well-organized and effective curriculum containing the clinical and academic elements necessary to enable the nurses to fulfill the program’s educational goals and objectives.
  • Involve in trainee selection and interviewing candidates for training through SCFHS Matching System that is conducted every Academic year.
  • Review post training, all trainee evaluations and submission to SCFHS via One45 system.
  • Regular Communication with SCFHS for accreditation of training programs, local committee meetings, program director’s nominations, and any other related issues and announcements by SCFHS
  • Help to improve General Competencies of physicians in patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice through post graduate programs.
  • Support department with budget allocation and submit for review / approval.
  • Suggest measures to control annual operating capital budgets and expenditure for the department.
  • Create a culture of educational experience that will enable nurses to obtain the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to practice their chosen specialty independently and competently.
  • Work with program institutions and department leaders to support by creating a learning environment maximally conducive to achieving the educational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee operations of the post graduate program for nursing, including all activities selection, dismissal, instruction, supervision, advising, evaluation, documentation, and advancement of residents/ interns.
  • Work close with clinical heads to define and obtain from the department and institution the educational resources necessary to conduct the program.
  • Ensure trainees to obtain the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to practice their chosen specialty independently and competently.
  • Assist trainees in obtaining appointment to appropriate institutional and departmental committees and councils whose actions affect their education and/or patient care.
  • Provide oversight and liaison with appropriate personnel of other institutions participating in the residency training.
  • Ensure that the program’s policies regarding evaluation and performance feedback are followed for all trainees within the program, and particularly for non-succeeding trainees.
  • Provide a final evaluation for each trainee who completes the program. This evaluation must include a review of the trainee’s performance during the final period of education, and should verify that the trainee has demonstrated sufficient professional ability to practice competently and independently.
  • Ensure that the program’s educational and learning objectives are not compromised by excessive reliance on trainees to fulfill clinical service obligations and that trainees are supervised at all times by qualified nurses to ensure both patient safety and resident well-being.
  • Plan and manage the activities of assigned staff and delegate assignment and guide them in performance of work.
  • Lead the team by ensuring an appropriate workflow management between the team through appropriate delegation of work.
  • Ensure clear goals and objectives (aligned with the Group’s vision and mission) for the department which will be communicated and cascaded from top to bottom (unit/section/individual) with continued monitoring and controlling through open feedback channels.
  • Set objectives and provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal to employees in order to maximize employees and overall department performance in the pursuit of the set objectives.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity
  • Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education/ Professional Qualification
1.    Bachelor’s Degree or Medical Graduate of an Accredited Medical School with completion of appropriate Internship and nursing requirements.


Experience 
1.    Minimum Six (6) years of relevant experience or an experience fellowship and nursing educator for a length of time requirement by RRC.
