We’re seeking a dynamic leader to manage the Technology and Sustainability engineering team and to provide specialized technical support for the site-wide plant’s technical initiatives, sustainably debottleneck studies, and troubleshooting with a focus on issues related to licensed process technologies, pressure relief devices, energy efficiency and benchmarking for a leading petrochemical company in Jubail.


Additionally, the responsibilities extend to being accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the managed team unit.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Formulate strategies for plant relief devices integrity and inspection with the maintenance team. Validates cross-functional integrity audit findings and recommends corrective and preventive measures for plants pressure relief devices.
  • Drives equipment reliability and availability reviews via benchmarking studies to maximize equipment utilization.
  • Manages site’s Sustainability Program including changes to policy, focus areas and enabling activities.
  • Manages equipment operating parameters, limits and engineering controls for safe and optimum operating conditions.
  • Manages process safety reviews for plant operation, Management of Change (MOC) projects and new projects.
  • Endorse technical documents for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Endorse the scope of engineering projects and selection of vendors.
  • Endorses recommendations for equipment efficiency improvements.
  • Manages the use of data analytics across the plant and derive actionable insights for alternative engineering solutions.
  • Based on analysis, develops energy efficiency strategies for whole organization. Manages yearly measurement programs and ensures implementation of preventive and corrective measures in order to increase energy efficiency.
  • Manages Solomon and Phillip Townsend benchmark studies site wide. Determines the competitive position of process units in the industry. Formulates improvement initiatives, establishes performance targets and measure progress.
  • Accountable for maintaining the confidentiality of organization’s as well as licensor’s technical information. Acts as the technical approver of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Manages relationship with external parties such as CPChem, Technology Licensors and SEEC.
  • Acquires funds for the end-to-end unit’s activities and manages assigned budget.
  • Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the managed unit.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; managing organizational structure.
  • Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Advocates safety culture across the organization.
  • Provides environmental, health, and safety leadership in maintaining a goal of zero incidents, process safety and environmental events within area of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements operational excellence (OE) requirements within the assigned area, coaching staff in expectations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area managed and the organization more widely.
  • Performs any other relevant task as directed by General Manager Technical.

Qualifications:


Please note, this role is only open to Saudi Nationals due to Saudisation targets


Academic – Bachelor’s degree, Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field


English Language level – B2


Total experience – 10+ years and a minimum of 5 years in a Supervisory role.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.


Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.


Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


The role is a permanent position based in Jubail with a competitive package.
