 New Murabba Project Infrastructure” which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues. 

The project will be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents. The project will offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.

The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system. It will be approximately 20-minutes' drive from the airport.

In this role, you will lead operations of civil/structural designers and drafters and will plan and coordinate assigned work to meet project schedules. You will prepare layouts and procedures, develop designs for complex civil/structural engineering systems, and supervise requisition and bid activities. Your oversight will standardize efforts and ensure that compliance and project milestones are met.  

• Supervises directly or through a subordinate level the operations of a multi discipline Engineering core team providing design management and technical review support across a large complex project.
• Plans and coordinates the assigned work to meet the project schedules.
• Supports management with staffing plans and recruitment to meet Engineering requirements.
• Supports planning and implementation training programs for Engineering Technical Support Team. ​ 
• Coordinates development of designs for complete and complex engineering with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed​. 
• Coordinates the preparation of detailed engineering deliverables including layouts, study drawings, detailed design 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, construction drawings, technical specifications and material take offs.​ 
• Ensures Engineering designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. 
• Supports development of work plans and schedules for Engineering design work including estimate for material quantities, design deliverables and staffing needs to meet the project milestones​.
• Supports preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations​. 
• Monitors work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
• Supports preparation of design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort​. 
• Coordinates or makes jobsite visits as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents​.
• Supports technical evaluation of Contractor submittals, FCD’s, DCN’s and progress claims.
• Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management

Requires a bachelor's degree of Civil Engineering or higher (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of Engineering Management experience on Infrastructure projects.

• Sufficient knowledge of computers to monitor schedule of work and track completion of outstanding tasks.
• Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
• Commercial and residential precinct planning, development and/or operations experience.
• Knowledge of Sustainability principles and key sustainability guidelines and certification organizations, including LEED and Mostadam.
• Knowledge of Engineering software applications as related to the design of infrastructure and buildings including, but not limited to:  Autodesk suite of CAD, design and analysis tools, BIM, GIS.
• Demonstrated experience with preparation of consultant fee proposals and technical services contracts.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems based on ISO:9001 standards as applied to engineering design.
• Familiarity with Engineering Design and Construction practices.
• Familiarity with Design Guidelines, Design Standards, Specifications, Standard Drawings, Standard Pay Items and the application of these in the execution of Engineering design and project execution.
• Experience with preparation and monitoring of engineering performance and progress reporting (EPPR).
• Experience working in KSA
• Multi-tasking co-ordination skill while executing complex and challenging project /program execution.
