Job Purpose
The Manager, Continuous Improvement and Performance is responsible for leading the implementation of structured business improvement projects to enhance BMNM operational and cost performance. The manager will be responsible for delivering value to the business through robust operational and cost data analysis to identify processes constraints and opportunities and managing the implementation of high value-add process improvements throughout the businesses
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development of the Continuous Improvement strategy and roadmap in alignment with the BMNM objectives.
- Oversees all aspects of BMNM operational and cost improvements efforts, with a focus on high value-add improvement opportunities.
- Develop, implement and manage improvement programs across all sites, aimed to assess, monitor and enhance operational performance for BMNM
- Develop improvement financial models as per the requirements to quantify the improvement savings. Update benefit capture system with financial savings monthly.
- Create, maintain and manage a prioritized improvement projects pipeline.
- Perform detailed data analysis using a variety of techniques (statistical, capability and stability analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, interviews with key stakeholders, go look & see, budget reviews, etc.)
- Design and lead the capability building plan to enhance capability in data analysis and improvement tools across all sites.
- Lead & ensure key stakeholder engagement and communication is occurring and their concerns are being addressed.
- Ensuring Business Optimization operating practices are documented, communicated, and followed. Standardization of processes when possible
- Ensure the sustainability of the improvement projects.
- Deliver accurate and timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting on the status of the improvement projects.
- Create and deliver executive presentations to leadership.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mining, industrial, mechanical, chemical) or equivalent; preferably biased toward mining, mineral economics, or engineering related science.
Lean six sigma black belt certified with significant project management experience
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in overseen and driving operational and cost performance improvements, business process management, continuous improvement programs, or relevant field. 5+ those years in a managerial role in the minerals sector.
Ma’aden High Performance Competencies:
- Experience in designing, implementing and driving operational performance improvements in the Mining Industry
- Experience using statistical software (eg: Minitab) and simulation software (eg: @Risk, Crystal Ball)
- Extensive experience performing capability and stability statistical data analysis
- Extensive experience facilitating Lean Six Sigma projects, tools and techniques
- Significant project management and change management experience required
- Role requires taking initiative, tact and excellent communication skills including building strong relationships
- Strong presentation skills are required
- Concise clear communication and a high degree of accuracy are required with respect to the analysis
- High degree of collaboration and team orientation required
