Overall Job Purpose:
The role is to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control for all maintenance requirements. Including OPEX/CAPEX
cost monitoring, controlling and reporting, department performance monitoring, liaise with maintenance team
and cross functional stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient cost control processes to a continuous
improvement in department’s Team Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 -10 years of experience in maintenance engineering, cost control, or a related role
within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring costs are controlled and expenses are within
budgetary limits.
- Analyze maintenance costs and identify areas for cost reduction without compromising quality and safety.
- Continuous monitoring of the cost and performance to improve management, accuracy, and to minimize
waste
2. Maintenance Planning:
- Maintenance compliance monitoring. Identify area of concern
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data on maintenance activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to management, highlighting cost trends, budget variances, and
recommendations for improvements.
4. Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to ensure cost-effective procurement
of maintenance services and materials.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Vendor Payment management
5. Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts, ensuring optimal stock levels to support
maintenance activities while minimizing carrying costs.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent excess inventory and stockouts.
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with Maaden’s standards, safety regulations, and company
policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
7. Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and support to the maintenance team in troubleshooting and resolving complex
maintenance issues.
- Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies and practices to recommend and implement
improvements.
Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Cost Management: Proficiency in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of maintenance processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and
reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues and optimize operations.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably Oracle EAM, Excel, Power Point, Power BI, etc and other relevant
software tools.
