Job Purpose
Plan, implement, and coordinate environmental programs requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental conditions (Operation level: Execution). Perform environmental analysis for the designated site/s, identify gaps, develop solutions and follow up on implementation. Review budgets assigned for environmental activities, coordinate with procurement on all environmental services and monitor execution for environmental projects/activities Cross check NCEC and other environmental authorities requirements against site conditions, identify areas of improvement, and handle/coordinate all communication with environmental authorities. Provide coaching and guidance to Jr. Environmental specialists and engineers Follow up on all capex projects related to environment and ensure executions are within the required scope
Key Accountabilities
Consistently delivers on all service level agreements
Monitor and control cost for all assigned environmental contracts
Provide technical advice for relevant stakeholders
Meet assigned Heath, Safety and Environmental targets
Participate in solving problems within a team context involving multiple stakeholders
Independent idea generation within team context (operational impact)
Analyze work processes and implement actions to improve own technical performance
Conform to quality standards, specifications and technical requirements
Investigate environmental accidents to determine causes, preventive measures, and follow up actions until closure.
Report/review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing
Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas relevant to environmental field
Recommend process and product features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards
Reviewal of all environmental reports issues for BMNM and ensure compliance to regulatory authorities requirements
Provide to management periodic feedback in regards to the environmental performance of the company and indicate all existing gaps
Provide to management all updates to relative regulation and impact/requirements to meet these regulations
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of engineering or environmental science
8 - 10 years relevant experience
