Purpose
Cigna recently secured a license to offer health insurance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are excited to open a new role for an Underwriting Manager to be based in Riyadh. The Underwriting Manager will lead a team of Underwriters that work on new business quotes and renewals of large corporate and SME groups, and collaborate with the commercial leadership to grow the KSA business.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day management and mentoring of a team of underwriters
Evaluate, price and modify plan design for renewals and new business on large corporate quotations in compliance with underwriting authorities
Build effective relationship with sales and client management partners to ensure profitable growth of the KSA portfolio
Use portfolio performance metrics to drive insightful conversations with client management team lead, and agree on renewal strategies
Collaborate with actuaries, product and clinical team to review and upgrade standard plan designs, and ensure the products meet market needs
Identify opportunities to improve pricing accuracy, and collaborate with regional underwriting leadership team to implement solutions
Ownership to deliver on new business, persistency and loss ratio targets
Own the development of data analytics tools and dashboards to track performance of portfolio, and individual clients
Conduct analytical reviews to identify and understand trends, patterns and insights that are used to successfully manage portfolio
Be market aware; understand competitive and regulatory landscape
Education and Experience
10+ years of insurance experience in health underwriting and portfolio management in KSA market
Experience managing a team of underwriters
Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, engineering, actuarial or similar
Data analytics and process improvement
