Reimagine What’s Possible
The Jazan IGCC is the world’s largest IGCC facility, generating up to 4 Gigawatts of power export to KSA. Facilities and assets include: Vacuum Residue gasification, acid gas clean up, soot ash recovery, sulphur recovery, combined cycle power plants, materials handling systems, hydrogen recovery, water utilities systems and waste water treatment facilities.
JIGPC will operate and maintain the IGCC facility in Jazan , KSA, under a 25-year contract. Saudi Aramco Refinery will supply the feedstock to the JV, and in return the JV will produce power, hydrogen and other utilities for use in the refinery.
An opportunity has arisen for a SARU (Soot Ash Recovery Unit) Commissioning Manager to support the Jazan IGCC commissioning and start-up and performance testing phase. The duration of the assignment is approximately 15 months with an additional option to continue support to the IGCC into the performance testing period. This is an on-site position in Jazan, Saudi Arabia working 8 weeks on with 2 weeks off.
The incumbent will directly report to the Director of Commissioning and Performance testing
This position is intended to target candidates with field/operations experience in large integrated Oil & Gas process plants, preferably with knowledge or experience directly in the SARU process or mechanical solids handling units. The Jazan IGCC team supports the safe and efficient leadership, planning, commissioning and start-up of process gas units, including our newly acquired gasification technologies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This opportunity is focused on leading a team to complete the commissioning works in the SARU units, planning the feedstock introduction and ensuring readiness for the unit performance test – for the units which are not yet in operation.
The Commissioning Manager will be expected to manage the allocated budget and schedule to ensure safe start-up and readiness for performance testing in accordance with the contract milestone dates.
· Strong background in field commissioning and start-up of process equipment
· Experience in operating or commissioning of large process plants
· Experience in commissioning and operating of mechanical or solids handling plants (conveyors, filter presses, slurry flows, ash handling)
· Possess strong leadership skills to drive both internal and external teams to their highest performance
· Lead by example with regards to developing and adhering to procedures
· Ensuring field work execution is always performed in compliance to JIGPC safety standards, balancing safety goals, commissioning schedule and quality
· Ability to read and utilize P&IDs, Isometrics, datasheets, interpret design curves of field machinery, execute function checking of field equipment
· Understanding of contractual milestones and pre-requisites which are required to be met to enter performance testing.
· A skilled communicator, confident and able to represent the JIGPC organization in front of our stakeholders and client (Refinery, Operations, External customers; national grid and Ministry of Energy )
