Job Summary: The director is responsible for the department's strategy, team leadership, and providing necessary support to portfolio and fund managers to study, implement, and monitor investment strategies. This is done periodically in coordination with the company's senior management, investment committees, and fund board.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, formulate, and implement the department's strategic plans in collaboration with senior management and other departments within the company.
2. Periodically update and monitor the department's policies and procedures within and outside the department.
3. Supervise the investment portfolios and funds team, providing them with the necessary support.
4. Manage communication with stakeholders both inside and outside the company to ensure smooth department operations.
Detailed Job Duties:
• Develop and implement the department's strategic plan, covering internal activities and procedures related to other departments within the company.
• Collaborate with the team to conduct studies and market analyses according to investment plans and prepare periodic reports for the company and fund executives to achieve investment goals and ensure proper decision-making.
• Supervise the portfolio and fund management team to implement investment strategies approved by the fund board or company’s investment committee, including setting performance targets, resource allocation, reviewing policies, and providing suggestions.
• Review and evaluate investment strategies with the team and propose improvements to achieve the planned goals in terms of asset distribution and periodic asset rebalancing.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of portfolios periodically, ensuring necessary communication with relevant parties within and outside the company to achieve investment goals and provide necessary support to portfolio and fund managers.
• Conduct due diligence on target companies and sectors, analyze their financial reports, market information, and assess them accordingly.
• Work with the investment manager to analyze the financial data of targeted companies, including profits, loss statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows, to evaluate the company's ability to generate returns for investors. Monitor financial news via specialized programs like Bloomberg or Reuters or direct information sources like companies and regulatory bodies.
• Stay updated on market developments and new investment products, assessing their impact on market movements, including changes in economic and commercial indicators of countries.
• Collaborate with the investment manager on statistical and numerical analyses using financial evaluation and forecasting models, including using technology such as logarithmic programs, Excel, and independent applications.
• Prepare essential financial and investment reports and research for communication with the fund board or relevant investment committee or direct supervisor.
• Comply with company compliance and regulatory guidelines.
• Leadership and team management skills with knowledge of project management and business procedures.
• Analytical skills, both numerical and non-numerical, and proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to create compelling and clear presentations using PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills and leadership qualities.
Minimum Requierments:
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration.
• Certification in securities trading (CME1 - A&B levels must be passed).
• International wealth management and investment certification from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CME4 - A&B levels must be passed).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment, financial analysis, and investment management.
• Training in strategic planning and project management (if available).
• Experience working for investment companies managing client investments.
