We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.Job Overview:The Instrumentation and Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the instrumentation and control aspects of a construction project. This role ensures that all instrumentation and control systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned according to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. The position requires leadership, technical expertise, and effective coordination with various stakeholders to ensure project success.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Coordination:Lead and supervise the instrumentation and control (I&C) team on-site.Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, construction managers, and subcontractors to ensure the timely completion of I&C-related tasks.Monitor the performance of the I&C team and provide guidance or training as required.Liaise with clients, engineers, and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth workflow.Design & Installation Supervision:Oversee the implementation of I&C design specifications in the field.Ensure that all instrumentation and control systems (e.g., sensors, control valves, PLCs, SCADA systems) are installed in compliance with the design documents and industry standards.Review and approve technical documentation, including shop drawings, installation plans, and as-built diagrams.Testing & Commissioning:Lead the testing and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.Ensure that systems are calibrated, validated, and fully operational before handover.Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to I&C systems during the testing phase.Quality Control & Compliance:Ensure all I&C work complies with the relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, ANSI).Conduct quality checks and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications.Identify and mitigate any risks or issues that may impact the performance of I&C systems.Health, Safety, and Environment:Promote and enforce site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to the installation and maintenance of I&C systems.Conduct safety briefings and inspections related to I&C work.Project Reporting & Documentation:Provide regular updates on I&C progress to the project management team.Maintain detailed records of design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on I&C work status, including any delays, issues, or changes.Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:Address and resolve complex technical issues related to instrumentation and control systems.Provide troubleshooting support during construction and commissioning phases.Budget and Resource Management:Ensure that I&C work is completed within budget and schedule constraints.Manage resources, materials, and tools required for I&C activities on-site. Required Qualifications and Skills:Education: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Experienced in instrumentation and control engineering, in a leadership or supervisory role on large construction projects.Technical Expertise:Strong understanding of I&C systems, including field instruments, control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and communication protocols.Experience with construction and commissioning of I&C systems in industries such as oil & gas, power, or manufacturing.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Project Management: Experience in project planning, resource management, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.Safety Awareness: Familiarity with HSE requirements and industry safety standards.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Moving forward togetherWe’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
