Infrastructure Consultant

My client is on the hunt for a Smart City Infrastructure Consultant to join them on an initial 6-month contract:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network and IT infrastructure solutions that support smart city projects. This position will involve evaluating infrastructure needs, creating comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BoQ), sizing, and preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for innovative smart city projects. Additionally, you will lead data center assessments and design infrastructure that aligns with the project’s vision and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network & Infrastructure Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments to define smart city network and IT infrastructure needs and develop design solutions tailored to project specifications.
• BoQ and Sizing Development: Accurately develop and document Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and sizing requirements to meet project demands.
• RFP Preparation: Prepare and manage RFP documents for network, IT, and data center infrastructure, ensuring that solutions are optimized and scalable.
• Data Center & IT Infrastructure Design: Design and oversee the implementation of data center infrastructure, integrating the latest best practices in security, efficiency, and scalability.
• Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project objectives and provide consultative support throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in network and IT infrastructure design, particularly in smart city or large-scale urban projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, network solutions, and infrastructure sizing.
• RFP & BoQ Proficiency: Skilled in preparing RFPs and developing BoQs for complex infrastructure projects.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience presenting technical information to stakeholders.
• Expertise in Data Center IT Infrastructure and Facility Design, including layout planning, power distribution, and cooling solutions.
• Strong knowledge of IoT Gateway Solutions for enabling connected smart city applications.
• Proficiency in Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) Network Design and implementation for high-speed data transmission.
• Experience with IP Networks, including routing, switching, and IP addressing, to support scalable citywide networks.
• Proven skills in Wi-Fi Network Design and Deployment for public and private connectivity needs.
• Knowledge of IoT Network Design, addressing device connectivity, security, and management for smart city use cases.
• Experience with Data Center (DC) Network Assessment and Design for optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Previous Smart City Network Experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with the unique demands of urban technology infrastructure.
