JOB DESCRIPTION:


  • This position will be directly and functionally reporting to the HSSE Director.
  • The HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Manager – Experiences has a critical role within organizations, particularly in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, and any industry where safety and environmental compliance is paramount.
  • The HSSE Manager – Experiences is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures that ensure the health and safety of employees, the security of assets, and the protection of the environment.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:


Health, Safety, and Environmental Strategy Development


  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategy for all group operations, including hospitality, events, and contracting.
  • Establish group-wide safety policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a consistent approach to HSE across all divisions.
  • Align group HSE strategy with local, regional, and international regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Risk Management


  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across all areas of the business (hospitality, events, and contracting) to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement preventive measures, emergency response plans, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report on HSE risk management performance and ensure continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO standards, local environmental laws).
  • Track and interpret changes in regulations, updating policies and practices as necessary.
  • Coordinate inspections and audits by regulatory authorities and ensure all compliance documentation is maintained.

Safety Training and Awareness


  • Develop and oversee HSE training programs for all employees across the group, tailored to each division (hospitality, events, and contracting).
  • Promote safety culture through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure that all new hires, contractors, and temporary workers receive appropriate HSE orientation and training.

Incident Management and Reporting


  • Lead investigations of any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, ensuring timely reporting and thorough root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence and promote a culture of accountability.
  • Develop and maintain incident reporting systems and track key safety metrics.

Emergency Preparedness and Response


  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans for different operational scenarios, particularly for hospitality and event management.
  • Coordinate the response efforts during any emergency situations, including evacuations, medical emergencies, fire safety, and environmental hazards.
  • Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.

Contractor and Supplier Safety Management


  • Ensure all contractors and suppliers are compliant with group HSE policies and regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits and assessments of contractors and suppliers to ensure safety standards are upheld during contracting operations.
  • Maintain clear communication with contractors regarding safety requirements and expectations.

Environmental Management


  • Implement sustainable practices across the group’s operations to minimize environmental impact, including waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and seek opportunities to enhance sustainability efforts.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices in hospitality operations and large-scale events.

HSE Reporting and Performance Tracking


  • Prepare and present regular HSE performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, progress, and areas for improvement.
  • Track incident rates, safety audits, training effectiveness, and overall compliance across all divisions.
  • Set specific HSE goals and KPIs for each business unit and monitor progress.

Cross Department Collaboration and Leadership


  • Collaborate with leadership teams in hospitality, events, and contracting to ensure HSE practices are embedded in everyday operations.
  • Act as a key advisor to department heads on all HSE-related matters, offering support, guidance, and resources.
