Job Purpose
KAUST in partnership with NEOM is executing the world's largest coral reef conservation, enhancement, and restoration project. The project will involve working across a 100-hectare reefscape near Shushah Island in the northeastern Red Sea as well the construction and operation of the world's largest coral nursery that will produce half a million corals per year for coral reef restoration and enhancement. KAUST seeks to develop an operation that will utilize existing and new state-of-the-art coral restoration techniques combined with industrial-scale aquaculture practices to maximize efficiencies and reduce labor demands through automation.
This project will involve a complex interaction of industrial-scale aquaculture, marine construction, and significant vessel & diving operations in a remote environment under a compressed timeline. People and environment safety are the project’s highest priority and as such it is necessary to build a robust, and resilient HSE plan that facilitates efficient operational project delivery.
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the HSE system for the complex project. He/she is responsible for working with multidisciplinary team HSE and project professionals to seamlessly integrate comprehensive health and safety practices across all project elements. This position will be based primarily in NEOM with occasional trips to KAUST as needed.
