GIS Specialist

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintains and administers the Geographic Information System (GIS) database and provide instruction and assistance to all users.
• Prepares maps, data sets, and reports in response to requests from other departments.
• Utilizes ESRI and CAD software to edit and update geographic data and data attributes.
• Uses developmental software to incorporate new data and generate links to other software formats.
• Designs and updates applications for specific user needs that are unique to water and sewer utility functions.
• Coordinates data sharing with other governmental and professional agencies.
•  Updates utility maps, O&M manuals, GIS data, as-built drawings and sketches.
•  Utilizes global positioning system (GPS), survey equipment, and underground locating equipment to field locate and capture new data features.
• Assists in making engineering surveys..

Carry out any other tasks requested by the direct manager or the superior that are within the limits of the job, provided that this task does not make a fundamental difference in the basic tasks of the job.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor Degree in GIS , CIS ,Computer Engineering , Engineering or equivalent 

Minimum Experience: 

4+
