Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure completeness and accuracy.
2. Tax Management:
- Tax Reporting & Calculation: Review monthly and quarterly reports to ensure the correct VAT and Withholding Tax amounts are calculated and submitted on time.
- Tax Compliance & Filings: Ensure the company stays compliant with tax regulations and manage the accurate filing of VAT, WHT, and other required filings.
3. Month-end Close:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end close procedures.
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to support decision-making processes.
5. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
6. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and customer payments.
7. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the Financial Manager in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to assist in strategic planning.
8. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and insights.
- Communicate effectively with team members to address financial queries.
- Assist the Financial Manager in variety of other management tasks as available.
