Key responsibilities:
1. Engineering Management
Interact regularly with project sponsors and stakeholders, project, and Engineering teams for work packages.
Develop appropriate Engineering program\project management strategies for implementing requirements across a broad range of tasks, activates and initiative.
Conduct Engineering management activities such as communicating with principal investigators, resource planning, technical engineers, etc. to track project engineering and schedule milestones, maintain quality assurance processes, and keep the focus on delivering project engineering commitments.
Research and recommend Engineering management policies, principles, and best practices.
Institute effective project engineering specific processes and procedures.
Coordinate, resolve, or assist in resolution of conflicts and other issues within and between project and engineering teams and recommend/provide solutions.
Prepare reports and other associated engineering project and/or program documentation.
Provide schedule deadlines and budget constraints for design, assembly, and procedural inputs for new and/or standard facility and test equipment in collaboration with work unit engineering faculty and staff and Operations staff.
Identify, assess, and plan efforts to address system faults and affect accepted adjustments and repair in collaboration with work unit engineering faculty and staff and Operations staff
Coordinate among the engineering vertical leaders and teams, close any gaps and improve the quality of deliverables.
Define an engineering process based a best practice.
Interface with Customer and vendors in project critical activities and provide solution and consultancy to complete the project milestone.
Recommend and set a plan and schedule engineering operational training to prepare for and execute project tasks.
Set a development plan for the team and improve the engineering productivity.
Understand technology and Estimation development and analysis.
May perform duties of an Engineering Technical Support Specialist and/or Engineering Systems Support Specialist.
Support the configuration management, information management, test data support, documentation management, integrated logistics support, or quality assurance activities for the work unit
Participate in the strategic planning process and provide input into strategic decisions for unit(s) or user group(s)
Evaluate and initiate the change processes necessary to enhance engineering programs for project or vertical and gain approval from the EML.
Serve as consultant for new technological advances particularly those using integrated technologies and services.
Monitor, control and manage multiple projects and serve major programs simultaneously.
Lead, Hiring and supervising staff.
Manage projects UAT and handing over.
2. Technical Knowledge
Advanced knowledge in Security, FAS and BMS systems design and implementation.
Advanced knowledge in ICT, network, firewalls, Rail Wifi and cybersecurity systems design and implementation.
Extensive experience in CCTV, ACs, KMS, VMS, video analytics, network security and infrastructure.
Good understanding to Honeywell products ex. (DVM, EBI, CCS, Prowatch, Maxpro, Niagara, etc.)
Extensive experience in server sizing, storage, VMware, etc.
Advanced experience in designing and implementing security and ICT systems.
Good knowledge in smart infrastructure.
Experience in security applications and integration.
Experience in automation systems and PLC.
Experience with telecommunication and intercom systems.
Experience with Datacenter implementation.
Experience in Rail systems and projects.
3. Customer Management & Satisfaction
Maintains customers satisfaction at acceptable levels and promptly resolves customer issues.
Build a trusted relationship with the customer and improve the communication channels.
Conducted a weekly meetings or Bi-weekly meeting with the customer to maintain the relation and project dependencies.
4. Engineering Value
Effectively leads the implementation of productivity enhancing process changes related to project delivery.
Controls cost and maximize productivity through the utilization of effective tools, processes and products.
Ensures the availability of tools, equipment, and materials required while maintaining and controlling inventory levels.
Ensure Engineering optimization across all verticals.
5. Estimate and Risk management
Participate in estimate review process prior to jobs or contracts being quoted to ensure engineering labour estimates are correct and that the work is achievable from a technical and engineering perspective.Ensure no scope gaps.
Participates in risk review and sales to operations handover meetings for assigned projects and highlight the technical gaps and risk.
Mitigate the engineering risk and provide engineering risk management plan.
Set a risk register and contain all engineering risks across all projects.
6. Resouce Planning
Ensures projects are resourced properly from engineering perspective. Develops effective partnerships with subcontractors and HAIL to ensure an adequate pool of technical resources is available.
7. Performance Monitoring
Monitor the engineering performance management process, providing coaching, training, career planning, development, and reward and recognition for the team to be approved by the EML.
8.Team Building / Communication
Partner with other Project Managers and project directors to ensure that the most effective utilization of resources within the District.
Help to Build an effective team that is committed to organizational goals and fosters collaboration among team members and between teams.
Develops an effective relationship with the Sales and Presales teams so as ensure, effective sales to operations handovers, optimized utilization of resources, maximized pull through of service and projects.
9. Health, Safety and statutory compliance
Ensure applicable local and industry codes and standards are upheld.
Ensures that Honeywell SOPs are adhered to.
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment through effective communication, training, equipment/vehicle maintenance and facilities improvement.
Manage safety program for assigned Projects within the engineering organization.
YOU MUST HAVE
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
Engineering bachelors degree
Masters degree (Preferred)
PMI Certification (Desired)
Smart City Experience (Preferred)
ITIL Certification
Certified in one or some of CCNA, CCNP, CCIE routing and switching or Datacenter.
Certified in one or some of MCSA, MCSE infra and Redhat.
Certified in in one or some of VMS, ACS, FAS and BMS systems.
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
8 to15 years’ experience in a technical management.
Thorough knowledge of technical Project operations, delivery and execution.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Ability to manage mega projects.
Advanced Soft & Communications skills.
