ROLE OVERVIEW
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for handling StaffCo clients' employee concerns, managing conflicts, and ensuring compliance with StaffCo policies and labor laws. This role includes overseeing administrative support for new hires, such as arranging medical insurance, facilitating Iqama processes, and assisting with essential services like bank account setup and ABSHER fingerprinting. Strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of employment law, and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally are essential for success in this role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations Management
- Serve as the primary contact for workplace concerns, grievances, and conflicts.
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints with fairness and impartiality.
- Mediate conflicts between employees and management, promoting effective communication.
New Joiner Support
- Arrange medical insurance, Iqamas, and Iqama medicals for new hires.
- Facilitate the provision of new SIM cards and assist with opening bank accounts for new employees.
- Oversee the ABSHER fingerprinting process for all new joiners.
Policy Development & Compliance
- Communicate and enforce company policies consistently across all levels.
- Assist in developing and revising HR policies to ensure compliance with local labor laws.
- Educate employees and managers on policies, procedures, and employee relations best practices.
Performance Management Support
- Support the development of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with HR and management to enhance employee performance and engagement.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases, including investigations and resolutions.
- Prepare regular reports on employee relations activities and outcomes.
- Ensure all documentation is kept confidential and adheres to legal requirements.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Proven experience as an Employee Relations Specialist, HR Generalist, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices in employee relations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software and tools for managing employee relations cases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD) is preferred.
