Job Overview: The Director of Finance is responsible for providing complete oversight for the Finance function of Equinox Resort Amaala, including strategy, budget, planning, hiring, leadership, and effective operation of the department. The role entails analyzing and reporting on the total financial performance of the resort and collaborating with all property leaders to achieve financial goals. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of the resort while upholding the luxury standards of Equinox Resort at Amaala, The Red Sea, Saudi Arabia.

Essential Job Functions:



Develop Finance Strategy: Craft and document the Finance strategy of Equinox Resort Amaala to optimize all aspects of the resort's finances, including establishing financial controls in collaboration with all departments. Market Indicators: Establish and maintain all key financial market indicators relevant to the resort, such as EBITDA, and ensure continuous monitoring and adjustment as needed. Budget/Forecast Management: Prepare the Resort’s budget/forecast and ensure all targets and line items are met, closely monitoring financial performance and implementing corrective measures when necessary.

Capital Planning: Preparation and update of Hotel’s Capital Plan.



Staff Leadership: Hire, train, and manage the performance of all Finance staff, ensuring the team operates efficiently and aligns with the resort’s strategic financial goals.

Oversite of Hotel Accounting: Oversee all finance functions, including Purchasing, AP, AR, Cashiering, Payroll, Income Audit and Financial Reporting



Record Keeping: Maintenance of all hotel records including contracts, rental agreements, licenses, permits, government required documents, and other legal documents along with tracking of critical dates.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly/annual financial statement of the hotel in accordance with USALI and IFRS, keeping the General Manager and Vice President of Finance informed of any discrepancies or deviations from the budget. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with all resort departments to ensure budget understanding, alignment, and effective communication of financial protocols. Audit Processes: Develop and implement comprehensive audit processes related to financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Executive Committee Participation: Actively participate in Executive Committee and leadership meetings, ensuring that the Finance function is well represented, and its needs are considered in decision-making processes. Community Engagement: Engage with the local community and nurture key business contacts, enhancing the resort's financial partnerships and standing within the region. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Government Reporting/Taxation, Work Rules, Safety Standards, and Standards of Conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Financial Innovation: Lead initiatives to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and overall financial optimization across the resort. Risk Management: Oversee risk management processes, including insurance, financial audits, and compliance with local and international financial regulations. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, including special financial projects, contributing to the resort’s overall strategic planning, and supporting cross-departmental financial education.

Qualifications/Skills:



Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential:
- Education: Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or similar qualification.
- Leadership Experience: Five years in a leadership role within finance, preferably in a luxury resort environment.
- Industry Understanding: Understanding of luxury resort operations and financial management.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Arabic (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management.
- Technical Skills: Experience in MS Office with expert knowledge of Excel using data tables, pivot tables, formulas and functions. Experience and configuration of various hotel systems with knowledge of Opera PMS, Micros POS, Book4Time, BirchStreet Sun Infor Accounting and Oasys a plus.
- Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Capability to think quickly and act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Perform well under pressure and time constraints, with flexibility to work overtime if needed.
- Punctuality and regular attendance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
- Basic computer knowledge, including the ability to enter work orders and notes in a related system.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays.
Desirable:
- Five years in a leadership role within finance, preferably in a luxury resort environment.
- Understanding of luxury resort operations and financial management.
- A robust educational background in finance or a related field.
- Knowledge of financial systems and software commonly used in the hospitality industry.
