Responsibilities:
The recently established Joint Venture (JV) between DSV and NEOM of providing transport and logistic services to the NEOM project in Saudi Arabia requires a Director to head-up the department of Compliance, Legal, Services & Administration consisting of a variety of strategic business areas, such as Compliance, Legal and Insurance. The job presents an opportunity to build your own team covering such areas within the JV and develop the department as the biggest construction project in the world evolves.
Role Summary:
- Work with developing, supporting and executing on the strategy for JV Compliance, Legal, Services & Administration.
- Support the JV and its Executive Management with establishing solutions and concepts within each of the strategic areas above.
- Having managerial responsibility to introduce monitoring of changes in laws and regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Introduce internal audits and assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. This may also encompass aspects of customs & QHSE
- Implement, structure and manage all insurance matters for the JV, including but not limited to insurance management, employee benefit insurance, placements and claims handling.
- Establish and enforce internal controls to promote compliance and mitigate risks effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure compliance & insurance considerations are integrated into business operations.
- Collaborate closely with corporate, regional and local staff to coordinate activities.
- Work well in a complex organization that is centered in Saudi Arabia, but is operating with a global reach to support the JV.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior counter-parts in Customer and Shareholder organizations
- Ensuring that governance, policies and processes are implemented and adhered to.
- Communicate with clients, co-workers, and management in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time and sharing information and competencies.
Educational Qualifications & Work Experience
- A degree in Legal and/or Business Administration
- Minimum 5-10 years of managerial experience leading a department in one of the relevant areas and managing people
- Culture understanding and ability to adapt and collaborate with different cultures.
- Travelling abroad from time to time must be expected to collaborate with international colleagues and collaboration partners.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
