Role Purpose

We are looking for Design Manager to be responsible for managing design for infrastructure and buildings across a large programme in Eastern Province , Saudi Arabia.

What this job involves

• Lead a team and undertake day to day delivery of all civil / infrastructure / building design management tasks.
• Develop the client design brief to suit the specific requirements of the project.
• Undertake full design management and manage design teams in the development of design solutions to meet the client’s expectations and budget.
• Manage design through gateways in line with the contract and brief from the client.
• Fully manage and handle local government approvals process.
• Administer design contracts, proactively managing and confirming the compliance of contractors/consultants to the contract terms and conditions.
• Develop project design documentation.
• Produce design progress reports to suit relevant stages of the projects.
• Deliver design through gateways within the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case/client brief stage, while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality.
• Monitor and report on the designer’s progress against the contract program.
• Manage design consultant teams to ensure that the design is done in compliance with the contract.
• Managing the design process, not personally responsible for delivering design or hands on producing design.

Desired skills and experience for this

• Degree Qualification
• Professional Memberships are an advantage.
• Extensive experience in managing design in the region.
• Major international project experience is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with a fluent proficiency in English.

• International safety qualification / recognition an advantage but not essential.
