Role Purpose

As a Data & Insights Lead, you will support the delivery of NEOM Internal Audit’s (NIA) data analytics demand involving the development of in-house data led solutions to support delivery of audits on time and within budget, support and develop NIA Junior team members and manage co-source requirements.

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 to 6 years of experience in Data Analytics
• Required experience:
  • Proven track record of delivering data analytics solutions using advanced tools such as SQL, Cloudera, Python, Power BI and Tableau (Power BI is mandatory)
  • Experience of developing dashboards using Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience of working on data schemas for SAP/ Oracle Primavera / Enablon (one is mandatory)
  • Working knowledge of machine learning, natural language processing, and statistical analysis methods
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and data architecture
  • Experience with large data sets and analytics tools
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and make succinct recommendations
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently manage large projects
  • Strong commitment to develop and grow knowledge of Internal Audit best practices and guidelines

• Qualifications sought
  • Graduate Degree or Master’s Degree in a relevant subject
  • Additional Project Management, Data Analytics, or equivalent certifications
  • A commitment to continuing Education in auditing, project management, technology is required.  
  • Must become a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Technical Skills in Data Analytics

• Design data mapping for Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and controls for enablement of data analytics and continuous auditing.
• Develop and design visualization and dash boarding for interpreting the outcome of complex and detailed data analysis, to empower descriptive and prescriptive analysis for risk-based auditing purposes.
• Prepare ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) for the data requirements.
• Coordinate extraction of data with the relevant IT and Data Custodians for structured / unstructured data.
• Prepare Data Modelling, with appropriate relationship among related tables, and queries.
• Prepare visualization with actual data references based on requirements submitted by the Data & Visualization Architect.
• Design and execute complex data analytics queries to obtain desired results using advanced analytics tools.

Management

And Oversight

• Participates in on-going IA projects to identify various business risks and non-compliance.
• Ensures effective team working by providing performance guidance and support to the NIA junior audit team members through coaching, feedback, and mentoring.
• Supervises team members during audits to provide on-the-job training and mentoring as required.
• Ensures that audit methodology and best practices are adhered to during the execution of audits and projects.
• Role model NEOM Values demonstrating effective leadership to all NIA team members.
• Adheres to the requirements of the IPPF when planning and conducting an internal audit engagement.

Ownership

And Drive

• Assist the IT & Data Senior Manager to coordinate, arrange, and participate in workshops with NIA Management to enable data-led audits for their respective areas, with mutually agreed deliverables and timelines.
• Enable the development of KRIs by working in partnership with Internal Audit departments through collaborative workshops and risk reviews.
• Responsible for planning Data & AI-led projects by defining detailed schedules of activities, milestones, and deliverables of each Audit sub-team.
• Take ownership of data analytics and other deliverables to ensure that these are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality.
• Define reporting metrics in line with customer requirements to interpret and understand controls gaps and risk trends.
• Develop strong relationships and open lines of communication with all data related stakeholders across NEOM and NIA and assist the IT & Data Senior Manager to gain timely access to information/ data required for data analytics.
