About the job Culinary Instructor

We are seeking a passionate Culinary Instructor to guide and inspire aspiring chefs at a Culinary Academy in Saudi Arabia. Share your expertise, shape the future of the culinary industry, and work alongside a dedicated team committed to excellence in culinary education.


The Culinary Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality culinary education, specializing in a particular area of the kitchen. The role involves developing and executing instructional materials, mentoring students, and maintaining the highest standards of kitchen operations. The Culinary Instructor will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary skills and professional behaviour of aspiring chefs, ensuring they are well-prepared for successful careers in the culinary arts.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach Specialized Culinary Courses in Area of Expertise: Instruct students in specialized culinary courses, focusing on the chef instructor's specific area of expertise.
  • Develop Instructional Materials and Recipes for Specific Kitchen Sections: Create and refine instructional materials and recipes specifically designed for different kitchen sections.
  • Supervise and Mentor Students in Practical Culinary Skills: Provide direct supervision and mentorship to students during practical kitchen sessions.
  • Evaluate Student Progress and Provide Constructive Feedback: Conduct assessments of student progress in specialized culinary areas and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain High Standards of Cleanliness and Organization in the Kitchen: Uphold and enforce high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
  • Participate in Curriculum Review and Development: Engage in the ongoing review and development of the culinary curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Other Chef Instructors for Integrated Culinary Education: Work collaboratively with other chef instructors to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to culinary education.
  • Contribute to Academy Culinary Events and Initiatives: Actively participate in and contribute to various culinary events and initiatives hosted by the academy.

KEY REQUIREMENTS


  • Culinary Expertise & Instruction: Proficient in a specialized kitchen section (e.g., grilling, pastry, sautéing) with the ability to teach and demonstrate advanced culinary techniques effectively.
  • Teaching & Mentorship: Experienced in mentoring and supervising culinary students, providing constructive feedback, and assessing student performance to support their growth.
  • Curriculum & Instructional Material Development: Skilled in creating, refining, and implementing instructional materials, recipes, and lesson plans while actively contributing to curriculum development and industry alignment.
  • Kitchen Management & Organization: Capable of efficiently managing a kitchen section, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Collaboration & Contribution: Adept at working with fellow instructors to deliver an integrated culinary education while actively engaging in academy events, demonstrations, and industry-related initiatives.
  • Qualifications
    • Formal culinary education with expertise in a specific kitchen section.
    • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a chef in the specialized kitchen section.
    • Experience in teaching or mentoring culinary students.
    • Strong instructional, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Passion for culinary arts and commitment to student growth.
