Job Function: Application Software Development.
Main Responsibilities: The CTO will serve as the technical visionary and leader, responsible for designing, developing, and executing the EZ ride-hailing application. This role requires overseeing all technical aspects of the project, ensuring the app is user-friendly, scalable, and compliant with Saudi regulations. The CTO must collaborate closely with stakeholders, executives, and the development team to deliver a reliable and secure app that meets both passenger and driver needs. A strong emphasis will be placed on leading the technical team, planning and implementing an innovative roadmap, and ensuring the app supports the fixed daily fare model and operational scalability. The CTO must be proactive, dynamic, and committed to delivering an exceptional ride-hailing experience while driving technological advancements.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
· Define and implement the technical strategy and architecture for the EZ ride-hailing app, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
· Align technical development with business objectives and operational goals.
· Develop the technology roadmap to meet current and future business needs.
Development and Quality:
· Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring milestones are met and quality standards are upheld.
· Ensure seamless app functionality and create intuitive user experiences for urban and rural users.
Team and Vendor Management:
· Build and manage a high-performing technical team while coordinating with outsourced development agencies.
· Integrate cross-departmental feedback into technical improvements.
Infrastructure and Scalability:
· Ensure robust backend systems for efficient management and compliance with local regulations.
· Design the app for scalability to expand into new markets and incorporate advanced features.
Compliance and Risk Management:
· Adhere to local regulations, manage technical risks, and implement disaster recovery plans.
Execution and Monitoring:
· Oversee timely app deployment and monitor performance post-launch to address technical issues and optimize infrastructure.
Qualifications
Education:
· BS/BA or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields; graduate degrees (e.g., MS, MBA) are a plus.
Technical Expertise:
· Extensive experience in developing and deploying large-scale mobile applications, particularly in ride-hailing or transportation.
· Strong knowledge of mobile platforms (iOS, Android), backend systems, APIs, GPS tracking, and payment integration.
· Expertise in cloud platforms, scalable infrastructure, and relevant programming frameworks (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift, React Native).
Professional Experience:
· 8+ years in software development, with 5+ years managing tech teams and delivering complex projects.
· Proven leadership in mobile app development, overseeing full software lifecycles with Agile methodologies.
Leadership and Management:
· Skilled in building and managing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
· Experience managing outsourced teams and aligning technical projects with business objectives.
· Effective in handling multiple priorities and ensuring timely delivery of key features.
Business and Industry Knowledge:
· Deep understanding of the ride-hailing sector, customer needs, and operational challenges in Saudi Arabia.
· Familiarity with local transportation regulations and global best practices in scalability and user experience.
Other Skills:
· Expertise in security, risk management, and compliance with data privacy standards.
· Proficiency in problem-solving, decision-making, and bilingual communication (Arabic and English).
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
· Experience with scaling applications from prototype to mass adoption.
· Understanding of cybersecurity best practices for mobile applications.
· Background in working within startups or fast-paced environments.
