JOB PURPOSE
Conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all QC & RTGs other related equipment’s in the most efficient and effective manner, making sure that jobs are done in the quickest and most cost-effective way, keeping in mind quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the crane and other related
equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by his Supervisor.
Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required
Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system
Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis
Conduct all preventive & corrective maintenance activities meticulously and make sure all items
in the checklist are complete adhering to the stipulated times
Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Foreman
Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures
Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all mechanical
work performed on crane
Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity
Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is
responsible
Record Number and nature of accidents, Ensure safety principles are followed
Maintain constant communication with his supervisor to ensure effective crane workshop
operations
Responsible to maintain safety and discipline in the work area
Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards
Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices
Ensure compliance with HSE policy
Reporting accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures
Experience in container in Container terminals and Quay cranes/ RTGs
Mandatory: 2 to 3 years
Education
Preferable: Diploma in mechanical engineering
Detailed knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment, diesel engines,
transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes etc.
Knowledge about lifting chain and wire ropes
Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings
Fully conversant with safety procedures
Good communication skills.
