Project Overview:

New Murabba Project Infrastructure” which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues.


The project will be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents. The project will offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.


The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system. It will be approximately 20-minutes' drive from the airport.

Job Summary:

Bechtel are providing Project Management Consultancy Services on the New Murabba Project in Riyadh, the home of the Mukaab.


The advertised role is for an exciting position on a fast paced and challenging project, working in multi-disciplinary teams on Riyadh’s ambitious vision for a new, modern downtown. Powered by technology of the future and inspired by Saudi Arabia’s rich traditions and culture, this mega project is one of the world’s leading and most ambitious construction projects.


The successful candidate will collaborate with experts in their field, leading the administration and management of contract packages of moderate complexity.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that contract obligations are met by all parties involved.
  • Identifies potential risks in contract terms and liaises with project teams to mitigate them.
  • Monitors commercial performance to ensure compliance with contract and timelines.
  • Draft letters, instructions, general notices and other contractual correspondence.
  • Assesses and manages simple claims related to contract disputes or changes.
  • Prepares documentation and support for the assessment of entitlement with regard to claims submitted by consultants / contractors.
  • Maintains accurate records of all contracts and their performance.
  • Prepares regular reports on contract status, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Provides guidance and training to junior contracts administrators and project personnel.
  • Develops best practices for contract management within the organization.
  • Provides guidance on contractual matters to delivery team and other stakeholders.
  • Leads agreement of final account, expedites receipt of all contract deliverables and closes out contracts in line with project procedures.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience of working on large infrastructure projects and/or large real estate developments
  • Professional Accreditation (MRICS, MCIArb or equivalent) is preferred


Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience and detailed knowledge in contract pricing structures, contract law, contract drafting, tendering procedures & requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of the FIDIC Suite of Contracts and their utilization on major construction projects
  • Proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Ability to meticulously review contracts and documents for accuracy and compliance, identifying potential issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of when to engage legal counsel
  • Understanding of project management principles and practices to oversee contract execution against project timelines
  • Capability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contracts and project delivery.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret contract language, identify implications, and assess contractor performance.
  • Experience in evaluating and negotiating contract claims, variations, and extensions.
  • Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial principles related to project contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple contracts and ensure documentation is thorough and accessible.
