TROJENA (The Mountains of NEOM) will be an iconic, world-class destination, blending natural and developed landscapes and will offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia in the region of Tabuk just 50km from the coast, TROJENA will be a destination like no other on earth. Based upon the principles of eco-tourism facilities will include a folded vertical village, a lake with water sports and event facilities, high altitude ski village, observatory, world leading health and wellbeing facilities and a nature reserve which will be home to unique wildlife, heritage sites and exploration opportunities

The Construction Specialist is responsible for the coordination and oversight of contractors’ works and work completion of major primary steel structures. The Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all appointed Contractor’s job site activities and ensures that the construction operations and contractor’s performance are in compliance with project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders and general public.

• Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations. Actively participates in scheduled safety and review meetings
• Provides leadership in promoting a safe work environment
• Reviews contractor rigging submittals and may independently prepare conceptual lift and transport studies to validate those of the contractor.
• Reviews and contributes to the contractor’s development of transport and rigging and lift strategies by advising contractor personnel on crane and heavy transport requirements.
• Reviews medium and critical risk lift plans and site transport plans submitted by contractors or others or organizes the approval for critical lift and transport studies with a Bechtel’s Project Rigging Engineer (PRE) / Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE)
• Prepares technical specifications for bid packages and assesses contractor technical bid packages for lifting and transport requirements.
• May supervise lifting operations and site transport movements on a project, organizing schedules with Project Controls and work with construction contractors
• Reviews and approves medium and critical risk lift and site transport plans submitted by contractors or arranges the approval for critical lift and transport studies with a Bechtel CRE.
• Developing together with the specialized vendor specific procedure for the installation of snowmaking system , chairlifts and roof transportation system by crane, hydraulic jacks and other lifting equipment’s.
• Monitors compliance of rigging operations with approved rigging plans and applicable codes
• May coordinate with the contractor supervision the execution of lifting operations and unnatural site transport movements on a project
• Develops rigging training materials and conducts rigging training courses as required.
• Monitors compliance of rigging operations with approved rigging plans and applicable codes
• The candidate is expected to work on an alternating pattern of day and night shifts
   

• A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering

• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction industry and plant assembly
• Minimum 7 Years of experience in large or complex lifting operations with significant primary in equipment’s lift and assembling
• Experience on project based on mountain area
• Physically fit to work at high altitudes and hike for site inspections in mountainous terrain
• Thorough knowledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction works
• Thorough knowledge of cranes and lifting requirements and codes of practice
• Experience of monitoring crane operator and rigger qualifications
• Experience of providing training to contractor and PMC employees in safe lifting and crane practices
• Experience of managing rigging / slinging equipment and consumables, including the periodic inspection and control of restricted lifting gear
• Experience in arranging logistics and supply chain efforts to support the schedule
• Experience in arranging and supervising standard and non standard lifting methods, including multiple lifting devices on site at any one time
• Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC, either on Construction Coordination role or Direct Construction experience on construction projects
• Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
• Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and field engineers
