  • We are currently looking for a Commercial Director to support AtkinsRéalis in delivering professional design and engineering consultancy services in Saudi Arabia. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years relevant experience and be capable of supporting contract and financial elements of project delivery. 


  • You will be involved in the management of successful projects through the mobilisation stage into steady state operation, implementing processes and teams to assure good commercial governance of each project. 


  • You will be responsible for the coordination of our commercial approach, training and development of other Commercial staff and Project leadership operating within projects in Saudi Arabia.  You will have responsibility for assisting the Division to deliver against the commercial objectives set out each year in its annual budgets and building the business resilience needed for its longer term, sustainable growth, as well as for the collection of cash.


  • BSc. in Commercial Management or similar


  • MRICS.


  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience in Commercial Management. Minimum of 5-10 years at senior level.


  • Preferably has been working in KSA.


  • Strong communication skills


  • English skills both written and verbally.


  • Arabic – not required.


  • Skills to include:


  • Can manage/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Can manage/coordinate a team of QSs as well as acting as their line manager.


  • Can complete internal reporting and management of Atkins invoicing as well as project budget control.


  • Can manage/implement all Misk management plans as well as interfacing with other project team members.


  • Pro-active approach to managing costs and liaising with wider team.


  • Strong leadership with both client/Contractors. Can lead and present on:


  • commercial status


  • client issues


  • 3rd party discussions (contractors)


  • Can direct the client to solutions


Specific skills for the role include:]


  • Commercial management of major projects and or programmes:


  • Cost Planning – at Stage gates including identifying value engineering/proactive in the design process.


  • Valuations (Monthly)


  • Cost Reporting (Monthly)


  • Change control process admin – evaluating Variations


  • Budget and contingency management


Other Commercial reporting, as required


  • Procurement management/process/execution:


  • Completing BQs and organising tender documentation.


  • Working as part of a team to tender/evaluate various packages that are provisional sums within a Contract.


  • Tender return reviews – commercial evaluation and recommendations.


  • Implementing Value Engineering proposals and ensuring maximum value.


Contract Administration


  • Contract law and contract admin knowledge


  • Assisting with contractual correspondence


  • Payment claims administration for Extension of Time
