Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Civil Works Specialist who will be responsible for providing Architectural, Building and Civil Engineering technical support and advice to the Client Estate, consisting of buildings located in 137 sites spread over Riyadh and 130 Missions (countries). Only the Riyadh sites will be physically accessible. All other sites will be subject to electronic communications (virtual meetings, etc.)
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate interpersonal capability and has proven analytical capability and problem solving skills, good communicator at multi levels.
The hiring for this role is subject to contract award.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical support and advice in Architectural, Building and Civil Engineering (B&CE) maintenance techniques.
- Carry out and arrange for regular and planned building fabric inspections and condition surveys of all the buildings on the Client Estate.
- Support specialist contractors in carrying out any technical inspections required.
- Provide B&CE technical support to any refurbishment and new works projects, including feasibility studies, preparing Scope of Works and Specifications, assisting with producing RFP’s & ITT’s and supervising the delivery of works physically or as made possible virtually).
- Review and advise on any space planning requirements.
- Assist with the management of service stream applicable FF&E Asset Management.
- Assist with the management and operation of the Permit to Work (PTW) System
- Lead on all Confined Spaces related works, including Permits, vetting of suitably qualified contractors, co-ordination of confined space entry onsite and works inspections
- Produce Buildings & Civil maintenance related Risk Assessments and Method Statements in support to the maintenance department activities.
- Review and use contract technical documents as required including O&M manuals, As Built Drawings, technical publications
- Participate in continual improvement initiatives across all of the department deliverables
- Ensure that an Out-of-Hours Emergency Call-Out system is in place for all sites on the Client estate.
Specific Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in supervising civil and architectural works
- Five (5) years plus in maintaining and delivering MEP services
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Computer literate – MS Office , Excel, Project etc
- Understanding of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Strong technical skills and ability in all aspects of B&CE
