Job description


We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedChief Finance Officer to analyze & report financial information of all overseas entities of Orient, enabling the Senior Management to make informed decisions and to manage & correlate overseas records in an efficient manner consistent with Group Policies, International Accounting Standards & Federal Laws.


What you will do


  • FINANCIAL RECORDS
    • Ensure accurate maintenance of accounts & financial records pertaining to Underwriting & Financial transactions in accordance with the accounting standards & Group policies in order to comply with the requirements of respective Federal Laws of KSA
  • BUDGETS
    • Monitor the formulation of annual budget and quarterly reviews of KSA operations and their performance against respective budgets & business objectives to ensure that management is accurately and timely informed about the financial status and results
  • MANAGEMENT INFORMATION / STATUTORY REPORTS
    • Administer the system/process for Compilation, collection and preparation of reports on underwriting & financial matters for timely submission to Management, Reinsurers & respective Government Departments in order to ensure effective facilitation for decision making & compliance with the stipulated requirements
  • WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT
    • Govern the planning & organization of Company’s Financial Resources at KSA, in order to effectively manage working capital to meet the cash flow requirements
  • INVESTMENTS OF SURPLUS FUNDS
    • Spearhead the development of effective investment strategies in sync with Orient group strategy for placement of surplus funds, maximizing investment yield and income
  • RISK MANAGEMENT
    • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile. 
    • Construct and monitor reliable control systems. 
    • Ensure that strong relations are maintained with external auditors. 
    • Investigate their findings and recommendations
  • FINANCIAL PLANNING
    • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives. 
    • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans at overseas entities. 
    • Ensure development of financial strategies & performance measures that support the company's overall strategic direction

Required skills to be successful:


  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

What equips you for the role:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, related field
  • 10-15 years experience in a progressive organisation (Including 8-10 years in a senior managerial position in the same field ininsurance industry )
  • Chartered Accountant with professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA, ACCA, etc.)
  • General Insurance with particular emphasis on Marine, Hull & Cargo, Non Marine, Motor, Life & Medical Accounting principles & conventions
  • Should have UAE insurance experience and available in UAE or insurance experience within the GCC countries
