Our integrated engineering company, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, is seeking
an experienced Cathodic Protection Superintendent to join the team in our Saudi Arabia office. As a Cathodic Protection Superintendentfor STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, you will be responsible for designing solutions that make the structures of the UAE and KSA stronger and last longer. This Cathodic Protection Superintendent position will be project based with possibility of continued employment thereafter. The project is expected to last 3 years with an expectation the employee will then transfer to a company role within our Saudi Arabia office.
At STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, we spend our time working with our fully integrated repair companies to perform field investigations and develop repair solutions for existing structures and buildings. This position will be a role that requires broad knowledge of how structures are designed and behave, including: construction and deterioration mechanisms for concrete structures and specifically cooling towers is a preference.
Key Candidate Selection Criteria:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a specialization in Cathodic Protection (CP) Engineering with minimum of 3 years of experience in cathodic protection design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
• Responsible for ensuring that reinforcements in concrete structures, are protected from corrosion through the design, installation, and maintenance of CP systems.
• CP Engineer shall be a Senior Specialist that will be responsible for all technical aspects of the CP system. This individual shall be a NACE certified Cathodic Protection Specialist or level 4 certified to BS EN 15257 and shall have at least 3 years direct and continuous experience with the application of concrete cathodic protection systems within the Middle East region.
• Design and Specification expertise, with focus on planning and layout of CP systems, working closely with engineers to ensure designs meets technical requirements and project objectives.
• Responsibility for technical drawings and specification aspects of CP systems. Ability to specify materials, equipment, and techniques to be used in CP systems. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed CP systems.
• Oversee the installation of CP systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. Provide technical guidance to installation teams and contractors.
• Implement monitoring programs to assess the performance of CP systems. Analyze data from CP monitoring systems and adjust as necessary to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities to prolong the life of CP systems.
• Diagnose issues with existing CP systems and develop corrective action plans. Address complex corrosion problems through innovative engineering solutions.
• Ensure all CP activities comply with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NACE, ISO). Keep abreast of the latest developments in CP technology and regulatory requirements.
• Capable of prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and maintenance records. Document all phases of CP projects, from design through to maintenance and monitoring.
• Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to junior engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders. Conduct workshops and seminars on CP principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communication, with excellent interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
• Demonstrates ability to develop long and short form proposals, and ability to support develop very complex proposals.
• Proficient at preparing and presenting a professional presentation based on acceptable industry standards and can field questions.
• Understanding of basic contract/subcontract T&C. Evaluates risk exposure on projects managed.
• Strong computer proficiency (MS Office programs). Must possess strong math skills. Must demonstrate ability to read drawings. Estimate spreadsheet knowledge. Possess advance scheduling skills.
• Possesses skills and experience that demonstrate leadership potential as illustrated through skill sets described herein. Displays adherence to Company operating principles. Understands the concept of design build solutions.
