Jubail is one of Bechtel’s most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logistical planning on an unprecedented scale. It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it's getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or “owner’s representative” for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail and Ras-Al-Khair Industrial Cities. In June 2021, Bechtel’s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

Work Location: Ras-Al-Khair. The work location for this position is at Ras-Al-Khair which is located about 100 KMS north of Jubail Industrial City. You will be required to commute Jubail - Ras-Al-Khair - Jubail daily using the available transportation facility /shuttle bus service. The accommodation will be provided at Jubail Industrial City. Free breakfast and lunch are currently provided for Ras-Al-Khair assignees during workdays.

The BIM Specialist will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and will serve as the primary BIM support specialist for each of the BIM Dimensions (4d, 5d, 6d, and 7d) for in house design, construction teams and external contractors across all phases and disciplines of project digital deliveries. The BIM Specialist role will be a key subject matter expert for design, construction and operations and will be vital in educating, training and supporting the in-house engineering design and construction teams as implementation and execution of the RCJ Digital Twin Delivery System. The BIM Specialist role will focus on many aspects of the BIM Dimensions including, but not limited to, Integrated Schedules, Intelligent Model Development, Interference Checking & Design Coordination, Model Based Progress Reporting, Model and Data Delivery to Operations, Q/A & Q/C, and development of RCJ BIM processes, standards and procedures.
 

• Ensure the RC Digital Twin Delivery (DTD) program is implemented and executed in accordance with the objectives contained within the RCJ BIM Implementation Plan and RC management directives.
• Contribute in the development and implementation of BIM processes, standards and procedures.
•  Assist in the training and support of BIM applications, methodologies and process to the RC technical staff.
• Serve as the primary BIM support specialist resource for internal and external design and construction teams and stakeholders.
• Assures contractors project BIM Dimensions implementation and use is executed in accordance with the BIM contract requirements and in alignment with RC BIM standards, processes and procedures.
• Review contractor’s BIM Dimension submissions to ensure adherence to contract requirements and RC BIM standards.
• Supports the RC organizations use of the Common Data Environment (CDE) as the single source of truth for all project data generated.
• Leads the BIM Dimensions training of the RC staff on the use of the Building Information Model and associated tools.
• Conducts regular assessments, automations, audits and model interrogations in the review of contractor’s project BIM Dimension progress to assure compliance with RC requirements, standards and lifecycle delivery.

• BS in Engineering,  Construction Management with 8 to 10 years of experience in project delivery experience.
• Experience as BIM lead leveraging or managing technology in design and construction.  
• Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to relay BIM/CIM and technology solutions to engineering and construction professionals. This includes facilitating meetings with project management & client-facing presentations.
• Able to work in a culturally diverse environment.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Civil3D.
• Working knowledge and proficiency with collaboration and data management solutions: iTwin, Navisworks, Synchro, 3D/BIM-enabled quantity takeoff and BIM-enabled estimating tools (Assemble, CostOS, etc). 
• Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), LEAN and other modern contractual delivery methods.
• Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination. 
• Collaborates well in a team environment.
• Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities.
• Knowledge of CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, ACC/BIM360.
• Treats others respectfully, fairly and transparently.
• Puts themselves forward to own challenging tasks/ projects. Takes full accountability for effectively prioritizing and managing their own workload, utilizing tools/resources at the appropriate time.
• Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities.
