Associate Manager – Credit Risk



Job Description



JOB PURPOSE

To manage the Risk Monitoring and control function that aims to support the design and management of a framework for identifying and measuring and mitigating credit risk along with identifying gaps and weaknesses in the underwriting processes along with Optimising the company processes and controls around lending.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

People Management



Manage employee performance and development by assigning individual performance targets and development objectives at least on an annual basis.

Direct and supervise the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback regularly and on a timely basis, to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets

Manage the implementation and contribute towards the development of Risk Monitoring & Control policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of the function so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.

Manage the continuous improvement of existing policies, processes and procedures to drive incremental benefits through efficiencies and better insights and analysis



Functional Accountabilities

Business development



Manages the process of identifying and assessing the risks affecting the credit Risk

Financials



Assists in developing mitigation strategies for risks related to Loan origination and monitoring these risks.
Ensuring lending process are in line with all regulations in place
Review of Credit Applications to be forwards for Chief Risk Officer as per underwriting policies in place and analyses all expectations shared with the CRO

Operational Excellence



Ensuring consistency in evaluation and reporting of Risk. Producing the risk reports to all stakeholders on a regular basis. Organizes appropriate risk reporting, internally and externally. Gathering, reviewing and analysing evidence to build an awareness and understanding of changes taking place, or proposed to all related stakeholders.

Document, and ensure communication of key risks. Maintains the communications channel with operations



Technology
Maintain input or data quality of risk management systems. Monitoring of external indicators and market developments. Performs testing for New Products and performs PIV for every change in the Core system / Decision engine

Ensuring of escalation mechanisms are established and are being used



People Management

Regulatory and compliance
Adherence to all regulations and control function within the company in order to ensure that governance, Audit, risk and compliance matters are carried out.

Fully adherence to the cybersecurity policies, processes, standards and regulations.



Reporting
Ensure preparation of reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the departmental requirements.

Responsible for confidentiality of EMKAN’s at during employment with EMKAN.



Qualifications, Experience, & Skills



Qualifications



Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or any other relevant field (Master’s degree is preferred).

Experience



Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience. Prior Experience in lending products.

Prior Experience in Auto lease, Credit Cards and SME



Knowledge and Skills
Good investigation skills
Thorough working knowledge of the Risk systems monitoring, and its related procedures, for analysing the account behaviour of clients, identifying trends and shifts in credit risk profiles. High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work under minimal supervision Excellent communicator. Well organized. English (writing / speaking) Excel and office skills Time management Communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills.
