About the location:
Soon to be one of the region’s foremost luxury beachside destinations, The Red Sea will comprise of the idyllic natural islands and lagoons across 200 kms of coastline along the western coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh. The new Four Seasons Resort will be located on Shura Island, the hub of the development and home to a yacht marina, leisure and lifestyle facilities, retail offerings, 18-hole golf course and more. The Red Sea destination is being built with sustainable practices and tourism at its core, with the masterplan being informed by an impressive marine spatial planning simulation to model the environmental impact of development and operations to minimize over-tourism while providing guests with an exceptional travel and lifestyle experience. The destination will also rely on renewable energy and will only develop a small portion of the islands with expansive dedicated conservation zones. The new Four Seasons Resort will offer approximately 149 rooms and suites, all with uninterrupted views over white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. The property will also feature six restaurant and lounge outlets, meeting and events spaces, a marine discovery centre, Kids for All Seasons space and much more. Whether looking for rest and relaxation or sport and water activities, there will be something for everyone, including a full-service spa with a hammam, tennis courts, three outdoor pools with cabanas, and two separate beaches for families and adults perfect for soaking in the sun or diving down to explore the coral reefs.
About the Role The Assistant Director of Rooms will support the Director of Rooms in overseeing the seamless operations of the Rooms Division at Four Seasons Resort Red Sea. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional guest experiences across Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, Guest Services, and any other related departments. Reporting directly to the Director of Rooms, the Assistant Director will play a key leadership role in maintaining the highest service standards, operational efficiency, and team engagement within the resort’s luxury environment.
What You Will Do Operational Excellence
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Rooms Division, ensuring smooth coordination between departments.
- Develop and implement service and operational procedures to maintain Four Seasons’ elevated luxury standards.
- Monitor room inventory, guest preferences, and room allocations to optimize guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
- Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring cost management while maintaining quality and service excellence.
Team Leadership
- Partner with department heads to recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing Rooms Division team.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions to foster growth and productivity.
- Encourage collaboration between teams to create a unified and effective workforce focused on guest satisfaction.
- Act as a mentor to team members, providing guidance and support to develop future leaders.
Guest Experience
- Ensure each guest receives personalized and attentive service throughout their stay, anticipating needs and resolving issues promptly.
- Analyze guest feedback and reviews, implementing initiatives to address challenges and elevate guest experiences.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to ensure consistent service delivery and attention to detail.
- Lead by example by engaging with guests, ensuring presence during key periods such as check-in and check-out.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security standards across the Rooms Division.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure adherence to Four Seasons’ standards.
- Implement and monitor procedures for guest and team safety, delivering ongoing training sessions as necessary.
Strategic Development
- Support the Director of Rooms in identifying and implementing innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze departmental metrics such as occupancy rates, guest satisfaction scores, and revenue to identify trends and opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry developments and luxury hospitality trends, integrating best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
What You Bring
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Rooms Division leadership roles, with a strong background in Front Office or Housekeeping operations. Luxury hotel experience is required, with pre-opening experience being highly desirable.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on guest-centric service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with both guests and team members effectively.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop large, diverse teams.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Red Sea, Saudi Arabia.
