TS Systems Engineer - SRE

About the role

In this role as a System Engineer, you will be responsible to manage & support Qatar Airways large Container and Middleware platforms that includes Red Hat Middleware, Openshift, Azure PaaS such as AKS, App Services etc. You are expected to provide efficient support of various business systems running on multiple platform technologies hosted on hybrid cloud environments. You will be working closely with airline’s product development teams, product vendors, infrastructure teams & third parties to provide implementation support for deploying new solutions. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Must have minimum 4+ years of experience and 3 years of relevant experience in supporting following roles.
• Responsible for supporting on-premises Openshift Container Platform.
• Responsible for supporting ARO, AKS, ACR, APIM solutions in Azure & GCP GKE.
• Manage security, scalability, observability & performance of clusters across multi cloud environments.
• Install & upgrade patches on kubernetes clusters and manage life cycle of operators.
• Perform container image builds using docker, podman, buildpacks etc.
• Maintain kubernetes config in Git and use GitOps tools for config sync management.
• Support observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, Elasticsearch, Dynatrace.
• Proactive Monitoring of alerts/incidents, and optimize performance of workloads
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers for implementing application CI / CD automation
• Responsible for automation of upgrades, certificate management and capacity scaling.
• Perform configuration and maintenance of application server technologies like JBOSS EAP, Tomcat, Apache Web Server etc.
• Responsible for fixing application performance issues due to bottlenecks in Memory/CPU/Connection pooling/Heap/GC/threading/ etc.
• Contribute to disaster recovery plans & switch over of services.

About You

• Bachelor degree with 5 years of relevant experience
• Competence in using cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for deploying, scaling, and managing applications and infrastructure
• Strong experience in Linux & Windows server environments,
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as python, Shell Scripting, PowerShell etc.
• Knowledge in advance network configurations for Load balancing, Firewall policies & DNS forwarding
• Experience in providing 24/7 production support for critical systems
• Solid troubleshooting skills for problem-solving and investigation
• Strong working experience in Incident, Change (Planning & Execution) and Problem Management processes.
• Passion for continuous learning, follow community updates, understand the product roadmaps and implement new features.
• Good planning and organizational skills, capable of completing tasks in time.
• Proactivity, responsibility, collaboration spirit and teamwork
