As a Technical Operations Manager for TASMU Platform, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the platform. You will lead a team of technical experts and collaborate with various stakeholders to guarantee seamless operations, system availability, and continuous improvement. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of Qatar nation's urban infrastructure and services.
o Platform Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the TASMU Platform, ensuring high availability and reliability.
o Team Leadership: Manage a team of operations and support staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
o Azure/Google Cloud Management: Monitor and optimize the platform's performance on Azure/Google Cloud, including cost management and resource allocation.
o Incident Management: Develop and implement incident response procedures, leading the team in resolving critical issues promptly and effectively.
o Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security and compliance team to enforce best practices and compliance standards, ensuring the platform's integrity and data security.
o Capacity Planning: Evaluate system performance and resource utilization to plan for future scalability and growth.
o Vendor and Partner Management: Liaise with third-party vendors and technology partners to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of the platform.
o Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
o Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
o Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
o Standards: Support adoption of ITIL and service management best practices
o Budget Management: Manage the operations budget, including forecasting and expenditure tracking.
o Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on platform performance and operational metrics.
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
o Proven experience (5+ years) in technical operations management, preferably in cloud-based environments, with a strong background in Azure/Google Cloud services.
o Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
o Deep understanding of cloud computing, infrastructure as code (IaC), and DevOps principles.
o Strong knowledge of security best practices, compliance, and risk management.
o Proficiency in incident response, problem resolution, and performance optimization.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
o Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Certified: Professional Cloud Architect) preferred
o Strong understanding of technical concepts, architectures, and tools related to the smart city platform space, as well as experience with cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform etc.
o Ability to analyze complex technical solutions and data, identify trends and insights, and make informed decisions.
o Ability to identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies, as well as troubleshoot issues that arise during the platform operations.
o Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, build strong relationships with engineering teams, and collaborate effectively with solution architects, project managers, and the business team.
o Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities, develop project plans, and coordinate resources to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
o Ability to think strategically about the smart city platform space and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
o Willing to continuously learn and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, as well as seek out new opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills.
o Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, are a plus.
