The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible to oversee and manage the planning and scheduling activities for engineering projects within an organization. This role involves developing detailed project schedules, coordinating with various departments, and monitoring progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Senior Planning Engineers analyze project requirements, allocate resources, and identify potential risks to mitigate delays and optimize project outcomes. They play a critical role in facilitating communication among project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, and implementing adjustments to schedules as needed to meet project objectives.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all tasks, milestones, and deliverables to ensure project timelines are accurately represented.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements, establish priorities, and define project scope.
Monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying deviations, delays, and potential risks, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates on schedule performance, resource utilization, and potential impacts on project outcomes.
Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern, and recommend appropriate adjustments to schedules and resource allocation.
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources needed for project execution.
Prepare and distribute reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing project schedules, progress, and performance indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior planning engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in project scheduling and management.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in project management and scheduling to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards in all aspects of project scheduling and management.
Knowledge in Engineering fundamentals
Knowledge in Principles of planning and knowledge in Principles and practices of research and date collection.
Familiarity with planning practices and the associated software such as Advance Primavera 6
Knowledge in Principles and practices of research and data collection
Familiar with local and international standards in construction
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
