Position Summary:
Oceaneering is seeking a Senior Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to oversee, conduct technical reviews, cross-verification, surveillance, and ensure compliance in the execution of Major Projects involving offshore subsea, topside structures, and pipelines. The role involves managing NDT activities of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to the project's technical requirements and specifications, and working closely with QA/QC teams to maintain the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection activities, ensuring full compliance with project specifications. Collaborate with contractors and project teams to address and rectify any failures to meet technical requirements. Validate NDT results through UT cross-verification and oversee NDT activities at various sites and contractor yards. Ensure performance and calibration of testing equipment meet specified standards. Conduct reviews of radiographic films, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) data, and ensure compliance with project-specific acceptance criteria. Witness MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and DPI (Dye Penetrant Inspection) weld inspections, as well as PMI, hardness, and boroscope inspections. Verify subcontractor compliance with testing procedures, standards, and method applications. Participate in the qualification and validation of NDT procedures and personnel. Initiate and manage Discrepancy Reports (DR) and Corrective Action Reports (CAR) for non-conformities, ensuring follow-up activities are completed. Submit detailed daily reports, updates, and construction quality surveillance reports to the QA/QC Lead. Conduct quality surveillance for structural and piping-related activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution. Independent NDT Level II certification (PCN or ISO 9712) for at least 10 years, covering Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, PAUT, TOFD, MPI, and DPI. Minimum of 15 years of experience in an NDT inspection environment, with at least 10 years in the oil and gas industry in offshore operations. Experience in cross-verifying UT results with operating companies. Proficiency in PAUT of Carbon Steel, Inconel welds, and other exotic materials. Knowledge of the latest NDT technology and industry standards (API RP 2X, API 1104, ASME Sec V, VIII, B31.3, ASTM, EN, DNV, ISO).
Requirements:
Strong understanding of NDT Methods, Techniques, procedure interpretation, and personnel evaluation. Hands-on experience with ultrasonic testing of TKY joints, tubular, and plate joints. Demonstrated proficiency in inspection software such as TomoView, Omniscan PC, and BeamTool. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate and present technical reports. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.* Familiarity with safety, health, and environment regulations, and a commitment to adhering to company policies and standards.
